Even Tek's outs have been drives so far this year. It's good to have his bat back.

And I hope I get to make a similar post about Ortiz sometime in the future. He must put on a show in practice or something, they keep running him out there in the 3-spot.

And God help me, but Jed is making me miss Lugoat.

Agree with all of these-- I'm very impressed by Tek.

And Lowrie has come up in every big spot that we've had, and hasn't come through yet. But he's way harder to hate than Lugo.

Ellsbury doesn't seem to be swinging the bat all that well either-- Although part of that I'm sure was Kazmir making him look stupid yesterday.

The regression to the mean (or lack-thereof) of Dice-K and Lester will determine how successful the Sox are this year.

Re: 2009 Boston Red Sox: Reclaiming the AL East

Well, we made it five games into the season before I finally posted:

This David Ortiz stinks!

He must put on a show in practice, or something. He must be a monster in that batting cage under the bleachers.

I feel like I'm living in a modern-day "The Emperor Has No Clothes", and I'm the only guy who sees that Ortiz stinks.

ortiz has peaked. reminds me of perdro. once scary as hell to face (and who knows how papi will do this season) but it just seems like he doesn't have it. if he keeps declining and j.d. being so unproductive for his salary, the sox are screwed with left handed hitting.

Re: 2009 Boston Red Sox: Reclaiming the AL East

Pretty emo week for Anaheim, as if losing a teammate isn't bad enough. Dropping a heartbreaker against Papelbon, then coming back to get buzzed by Beckett, on the heels of losing that kid...no wonder they went bananas.

Ugh. At least Drew and Tek swung at good pitches. Lowell's out was horrendous.
