rookie bogie he showed that good eye when he drew that key post season walk, but he really is a pro up there. laced a double today. took a walk in a spot where a young player might be tempted to be a hero and expand the zone.

lackey and sizemore looked great. they hit the ball hard, just too many LOB. but we got one more inning here.

meant lester looked great, but yeah gave up one early and that one dong and that was enough...papi gained a few inches around the gut. but bogaerts looks really really good. sizemore too.

6'6" lefthanded pitching prospect Henry Owens, who had a 19 inning no-hit streak last season, started off AA with 6 no-hit innings with 9 Ks and 2 BBs before the game was called due to rain.

Mookie Betts started his AA career out with a home run, going on to hit 4-4. Blake Swihart had a couple of hits as well.

ok so we got a tv game. i normally listen on the radio on the iphone. its a good deal, like 3 bucks a month or something.

dropped 3 in a row. dont like that clay got shelled that was the worst of it. he has to be better than 90 on the gun and up in the zone with his change like vs brewers.

4.5 pitches per plate appearance for napoli...led the league. says "i like to get involved in the at bat". pretty sick. just singled and they showed his nice swing... he's a real talent.

grady up now after crashing into the wall in the top half. looks fine. but grounds into double play...

from what i have seen of xander the x man and his approach at the plate and how smooth he is in the field at short. i would say that for a guy with 50 or so total ab he has the most HoF equity that i have ever seen. i mean what a prospect. he looks like a 28 year old vet out there. i mean yeah mike trout is just a year older and has done something but i am talking about total eye test with this xander kid. but he has it.

just lined hard to short got kinda robbed by elvis andrus

I haven't had much chance to watch this year, but every time I do, Nava smokes the ball, but right at someone.

And there's a lot of that going around lately.

And how the hell do we get shutout when everyone in the starting lineup gets a hit? I've never even HEARD of that before! How many LOB's we got lately, about 50 the past four games?

Came back to the thread to mention that MLB Network showed Bad News Bears movies this weekend (Matthau one and Astrodome one), and watching Tanner in the batters box with no sound, you can't help but think of Pedroia.

its all about clay. lackey and lester are gonna be fine. so long as peavy is healthy, which he is right now, he is a good veteran pitcher. doubront, i would say so long as he is healthy, he is an average pitcher but he has the stuff to be better and that isnt bad for who i consider the 5th guy. but clay can be dominant, a total ace, but he hasnt really shown that since first half last year.

JBJ belongs in the bigs for good right now. pencil him in right until victorino is 100% and i dunno after than...trade carp or whatever. u arent gonna get value for a trade like that, but at some point you have to give time to your prospects. he could be a star by opening day next year if he gets his ABs, but he isnt going to be able to adjust to big league pitching in pawtucket.
