Toro sure has a weird way of looking at things. first, I think the Sox made the only big move they had to or should make by getting rid of Francona. Mark my words, the sox make no big moves in the offseason and win 100 games next year. You heard it here first.

Also, how can you be a fan of the sox and want the Yankees to win it all? That's so foreign to me.

lol sounds like dale sveum is getting an interview

im gonna make a prediction that the quality of the next guy chosen as manager will be directly proportional to how underwhelming he is to the fanbase

so for instance dale sveum sounds like a joke of a candidate, but if he is given the job he must secretly be a megaboss.

Goodie are you going to weasel out of your prediction by saying Theo "left on his own choice" when he takes the Cubs job?

I was really talking about player moves, not Theo. Theo moving on likely won't affect the product on the field next year (given my prediction). I think it would be really stupid for the Sox to let Theo go, although they might not have a choice. I think Theo is an excellent GM with a great track record. Of course, it does make it a lot easier that he works for one of the top spending franchise. Tons of money can make a good GM seem great.

yes because what the front office clearly needs to do is be reactionary to the yankees success. no way that goes wrong and the team doles out huge contracts to the best available free agent in spots of need. oh wait, thats what everybody bitches about irt theo already.

boston sports, where you can never win. even if you do win.

We got to gear up for hockey a full week earlier. Enjoy hanging the ALDS second place banner.

whats the difference between losing in the ALDS and losing game 162. For each team the season was a failure, and at least we didnt have to get are hopes up once are team did make the postseason

Both the Yankees and Red Sox failed. Let's just leave it at that.

Dead,

You might want to tone down on the FAIL rhetoric until you can get your ratio-of-posts-responded-antagonistically-to-that-i-completely-miss-the-point-of in this thread under control.

Cheers,

"I get that a lot....who is Theo Epstien?"

Wow. Smooth. I can't imagine getting that TWICE and not googling the guy, let alone "a lot".

I don't care if the guy stays or goes, but next time he wants to keep a low profile, he should stick with the gorilla suit.

sad day for the sawx

losing francona seemed unavoidable even though it sucks but replacing Theo will be close to impossible

this isnt 2003.

i have no idea if the guy who replaces theo will be better or worse than him going forward, but i feel comfortable that there are a lot of young, smart, ambitious guys around the game of baseball at this point.

the comp package is what interests me.
