So does Tito continue to take the high road or does he cash in with a tell all book?

If Francona "lost" the clubhouse its the Sox front office's fault by not exercising his option in Spring training and making him a lame duck.

Nick Cafardo was at it again today, saying the Red Sox handled Buchholz's injury in a "nauseating" fashion, and complained about him throwing only 18 pitches in a simulated game this week.

With his job writing verbal diarrhea for the Globe, where did he find time to get an M.D.?

if you read between the lines, i think there is pretty massive distrust between the players and management. the medical staff in particular. i wouldnt be surprised if that's what everything was about

the jason bay thing was a pretty big deal i think: http://www.weei.com/sports/boston/ba...ay-and-red-sox

bay has a big contract extension on the table midway through his walk-year. he accepts it and then takes a physical. after the physical the sox take the deal off the table and say he can have a two year offer if he gets offseason surgery. bay doesn't think he needs surgery, at some point he gets his own doctor to agree with him whatev theyre negotiating. but at some point it leaks that the sox pulled their contract off the table because of bay's knees and bay goes ape**** cause he thinks his market value just crashed

now consider the **** with daisuke. who the **** knows what was going on when he first got hurt a couple years ago - it sounded like the sox wanted him to train his body one way and he wanted to do it his way.

but when he sprained his UCL this year, the sox actually asked him to not get the tommy john surgery until it tears all the way. i mean, it takes balls to tell a pitcher with a mangled elbow to load up on painkillers so he can walk 6 orioles in the middle of may. daisuke said **** you and got the surgery. the surgery effectively meant he wasn't going to pitch again on his current red sox contract

your theory makes a lot of sense gehrig, that stuff with daisuke is pretty absurd

daisuke's agent? scott boras. hes probably the single most qualified person to call out an org on their bull**** and to convince a star athlete to act in his own best interests.

you know who else he represents? jacoby ellsbury. who the **** knows what really went on last year (2010) with ellsbury. boras had been burned by a similar situation with beltran the previous offseason, so maybe he was working extra hard to make sure nothing went public

now think about youkilis coming back at the end of this season. he has a screwed up hip and a hernia (or whatever). he comes back at the end of this year while he's really beat up, when it's maybe in the team's interests but probably not in his.

he goes 2-16 in the first 4 games. then he goes 2-4 with 2 BB in a blowout win. francona talked after the season about how the players had a meeting right after that game, and how he thought the players weren't rooting for each other.
