maddon is 1 of, if not the worst manager in the league

ok thats exaggerating, but he is just awful at bunt/steal* stuff and pretty horrid at handling the bullpen- i think he'd drive you guys insane

i've never really known how to judge tito- looking at the rays/yankees/sox he's clearly the best at decision making- but they also have an extremely smart front office so its tough to be totally sure that they're not the ones calling the shots

however, the rays and yankees also have smart front offices and have managers who are bumbling idiots so thats definitely points in tito's favor

*in one of the games vs the yankees he called that play you see in high school baseball 1st and 3rd 1 out in early innings he had the guy on 1st steal and get himself into a pickle to give the guy on 3rd a chance to score, obviously the yankees turned a pretty easy double play and got out of the inning

taking orders from the FO is what makes him awesome. He makes mostly OK decisions (I'm sure there's some things he's screwed up, but for the most part pretty steady), and in a market with absolutely ******ed media, he shields and sticks up for his guys at every turn. He's awesome.

Given how smart the Rays' front office is, isn't there a decent chance Maddon's moves that appear ******ed aren't actually ******ed? I don't trust myself to criticize his decisions when Andrew Friedman seems OK with them.

Also, I hope the Yankees have time to hire Francona before Game 1.
