http://www.boston.com/sports/basebal...e_bard_let_go/

bard released and kotteras gets his job. signing bard cost the sox 300k in the end. if they like kotteras more than bard then they were probably planning on going to war with bard/kotteras at one point. lolz

i am pretty sure brad penny is going to be the worst wade miller type we've ever signed i think his ERA may actually end up in the teens

I predict the least drama filled clubhouse since Petey came to town. I miss Petey, the other g.o.a.t

eta of the other bard?

i think bard gets called up about June 24th so he can get 10 innings under his belt before the trade deadline. hopefully he strikes out 14 and ned coletti gives us russ martin and andre ethier

pretty much every trade rumor this offseason has been 1) team demands bowden/buchholz/masterson 2) theo counters with bard 3) talks abruptly end

You guys are so delusional. You can duke it out with the Rays for the wildcard... and chances are you'll lose.

Yankees forever.

I haven't seen/heard anything from spring training. Has anyone formed any impressions of anything?

Penny is looking pretty good this spring, I think he might end up being a steal.

Looks like Penny. I can't say "sure", but I'd be shocked if it wasn't.

--I love that the new RF roof seats are called Conigliaro's Corner.

--I hate that this thread has been so dead. I don't live in the local market, so I don't get to watch any of the preseason games. Didn't anybody? Nobody has any opinions on anything?

No I didn't watch any of the preseason games. I'm definitely psyched for 2pm Monday, though. Rock the Gays, imo.

I don't watch preseason anything. Baseball is no different. Like bnrocks, though, I'm pretty pumped for Monday.

Look at how popular the Sox are now that they haven't won a title in 1 year

I know this comment is in jest and all but it speaks to how quiet spring training has been. Last year we had Manny heading into his last guaranteed year and him signing with Scott Boras, Schilling's injury, etc. What's the biggest story line now? Lowrie vs. Lugo? Wake me up when it's over, please!

Many fans of Boston will probably only keep one eye on the Sox until September, as the culture of the team has changed from a perennial loser to one that is a constant contender. I, however, think that the season will be one of the most exciting ever with the Sox contending against the Yankees and Rays for perhaps only one playoff spot.

I keep trying to watch preseason games but its so soporific, and I find myself quickly switching to something else. Excited for Monday though.

too deep into the NBA season for me to care just yet. I'm ordering MLB TV this year, though. Pretty pumped for opening day, though.
