think bedard looked fine. he didnt walk anyone and nobody really hit the ball hard against him. he will only get more sharp and more velocity and more bite on the curve. by the time he got rolling they had to yank him but he should be a big help.

yankees suck f em

if aliens come down to earth and command us to combine the red sox and yankees rosters and select the best possible team to compete for our galactic survival, i'm pretty sure this is the starting lineup we'd send to space:

1) Jacoby Ellsbury CF
2) Dustin Pedroia 2B
3) Adrian Gonzalez 1B
4) Kevin Youkilis 3B
5) David Ortiz DH
6) Carl Crawford LF
7) Josh Reddick RF
8) Jarrod Saltalamacchia C
9) Marco Scutaro SS

its kind of shameful what the yankees have done to The Rivalry by fielding the team they're fielding this year

I wouldn't even pick that lineup if I was a Red Sox homer who got jumped in a Yankee stadium parking lot

Come on man, Cano could play SS... (edit: Granderson could play right...(double edit: Reddick's OPS is quite comparable))

If we're talking about right now, using current stats, which it seems as if Gehrig is trying to do by including certain players in the lineup, then Granderson needs to be in there somewhere. You can play him at DH over Ortiz or instead of either corner OF. All Yankees outfielders are better than Crawford right now.

I also think Jeter > Scutaro, though it's close. Both are pretty bad with similar stats, but Jeter is a better baserunner and at least has past pedigree that Scutaro doesn't have.

If we're talking about going forward and we have to use the past in our decision, (like a ZIPS ROS type thing) then obviously Reddick, Salty, Scutaro, Ellsbury, and maybe Big Papi all need to go.
