hopefully kg will beat the bitching out of both of them. sullinger should be solid if he can be healthy. melo is much more of a toss up, he's huge but fairly raw, hopefully he can learn the defense quickly...

Sullinger has great footwork and has reasonable range and can hit his FTs, so pairing him with another big man is going to be good. He's got a solid post game and can kick well when double-teamed. A lot of people had him as a top 5 last year and until the injury stuff came out, top 10 wasn't unreasonable.

Kevin Garnett signed a three year contract with the Celtics for $34 million.

I don't see any details of whether the third year is an option year or if the Celtics have buy-out.

I've heard it's only partially guaranteed. Don't really care. it's a great deal.

loved Ray Allen while he was here, a class act but coming off of surgery and his age, I'm not devasted.

All of a sudden the Celts look like contenders. Does Avery Bradley make that much difference or have the others just stepped it up? Was too tired to watch last nite.

Didn't really answer the question. Does this Bradley kid really make that much difference?

They were just saying on the Sports Hub that the reason KG and Carmelo go into it last night was that KG told Carmelo that "your wife tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios". Hilarious if true.

Bradley helps in that he is a pretty good defender and they arent giving up 100+ a game with him in there.

Yeah, bringing someone's family into trash talking is hilarious. Next time Celtics come to MSG I'll make sure to hold up a sign saying that KG's 5 year old daughter tastes like fruity pebbles.

o that guys mad.

Tough loss tonight, they looked fatigued out there, just couldn't get anything going in the 4th and kept having lazy offensive possession, like Piece tossing up some prayers from 3 and nothing was going.

Horrendous loss last night. Things looking dire right now. If there are any still interested Celts fans on this board, here's my simplistic fix. Last year, around this time, things were looking just as bad and Doc asked KG (lol that coaches nowadays have to ask) to play Center and it turned around the season. They should do the same thing now as thats the big weakness on this team, no center.

Celtics' Rajon Rondo has torn ACL

Quote:
The initial report was a hyperextended knee but tests showed the ACL tear, an injury that usually takes up to a year for recovery.
So, Rondo is probably out for the beginning of next season too?

they beat the Heat though.

Doubt any trade is getting made at this point to drastically change things up. With no Rondo we probably dont make it out of first round of playoffs, wouldnt be shocked if we dont make the playoffs.

Heat are also 0-10 last 10 regular season games in Boston.

I'd be shocked if they don't make the playoffs unless they break the team up or have another major injury. Rondo has been, this year and his whole career, very inconsistent. Unless they play Miami or Chicago they can get out of the first round. They can still beat the Knicks without Rondo.

Well thats why Sullinger slid to 21. Tough break for the kid.

well this thread seems rather dead .

its funny reading some of the older comments about trades, for instance Jeff Green and such. I think Ainge knew what he was doing in getting Green to 'replace' PP in the years to come. And I liked what Tommy said that Green and Rondo will make each other better in the future when they were sitting next to each other on the bench during the Hawks game this week.

If Rd1 is Celtics Pacers do you think Celtics can make it through that without a true Center assuming KG is even healthy by then ?

I have another question for you guys: Is there a reason why we didn't keep Stiemsma and Hollands this year ? I thought they did a good job last year and it looks like we could've really used their size this year. They're doing an OK job for Minnesota and Clippers respectively this year i think.

Yeah, I liked Steimsma too.
