on one level i dont deserve to bandwagon this cup run after being MIA all year... on the other hand i got the bbbb mojo rollin and got us one cup and maybe more. i got the warrior spirit just like my boys the bbbb. they inspire me and i give them the good vibes.
Haven't caught many recent games but watched the B's in 2 of the Ottawa game last night and was really impressed with Spooner. Not sure how much of a scoring touch he has but man can he skate and he looks like he knows how to create space with his speed. (i.e. - doesn't just try to beat everyone around the outside but can pull up, curl, move toward center of ice, etc.)
Also, if R. Smith is the real deal and not just on the heater of his life and Loui can come back to 100% from the concussion we're going to be in great shape from that trade-- and we still have Fraser (who looked ok last night but I haven't seen him at all really) and Morrow who might also contribute in the future. Trade might turn out to be a big win for both teams.
Anyway along with all that plus the great young D-men and the pretty young as it is current core the future looks really exciting.
Sucks Soderberg now concussed and Seidenberg hurt. The injury runbad this year is pretty epic. The kids are getting a ton of minutes. I'm a glass half full guy, so I see it as a way to make the team stronger. Still I hope these injuries slow down soon.
Our local newspaper, the Worcester Telegram had no coverage of the Bruins in this mornings paper. None. I felt compelled to send this letter to the editor.
Dear editor of the Sports Page:
I find it incredible that in this mornings Saturday sports pages there is absolutely no coverage of the Boston Bruins Friday night game, a 2-0 win over Colorado, their 11th straight making them the hottest team in the NHL and tied for the best overall record.
I realize that you have only so much space, but you strangely found room for a Celtics loss (a team going nowhere), a New England Revolution article (soccer has limited appeal and its very early in the season), a Red Sox meaningless Spring training game and most bewildering a Nascar article. Surely, ice hockey hasn't become less popular than Soccer and Nascar (in these parts of course). I also realize that they were playing in Colorado and anticapate you're probably going to say you went to press before the game was over (but print of the final score in the standings section contradicts that notion).
I make this observation, by the way, as only a casual hockey fan and not some Bruins fanatic.
hell yeah. i am casual fan too but i signed up for the games the rest of the way and i am ready to drive to phoenix tonight f it. gogogogoogogogogo BBBB!!!!
would be nice to get this one tonight at dtown to close this out ASAP in boston game 5...that said, im not a big proponent of the rest theory of playoff hockey... like the habs get all this rest now...like i remember the b's swept the habs one year like 08 or whatever and the canes played a long series vs someone and then kicked our ass in round 2. so long as guys are healthy, u kind of want to keep that edge and just play and stay sharp. the habs are probably getting soft right now being the toast of the town.
paille should be back this weekend. take the goal scoring phenom caron's place on that 4th line. hey kid came up big though!
I'm all for them being done quickly, just to work out the last of this flu rust. There's no way that those top 2 lines aren't all playing with the flu. They look like **** for 2/3's of every game so far. Hell Krejci is minus points on my fantasy team, and he's the matrix come playoff time usually.
They're all the problem. When Claude has guys like Recchi and Thorton to keep people in line he's fine. When he doesn't, the team drifts away. I hope they trade Claude.
