Unless Bulger is irreperably injured there is no way that Troy Smith is a better option as a backup. It sounds like Ed Reed may be lobbying for Smith because he knows him better than Bulger.

He probably not going to play that much this year anyway, and he's still coming off that knee injury. He hasn't played 3-4 OLB so it could take some time to learn it.

Reed on the PUP list, inactive for the first 6 weeks. I'm not upset with it though, much better to let him recover than rush back on this timetable. gogogogog Zbikowski.
