1-8 with a pretty soft schedule (6 against tb, 3 against toronto; 6 of the 9 at home). next up: 7 game west coast trip followed by a 6 against boston and 6 against the yankees............terrific.
I hate myself for supporting this team year in and year out. I don't know how I put myself through it every year. I don't know why I build up this silly false sense of confidence before every season starts that THIS will be the year we make a run and go .500. I don't know why I defend this team to other people who only have negative things to say and just purely mock me for being a supporter of such a lowly organization. None of it makes any sense and I really don't have a clue why I do this to myself. Well, yes, I do... because I ****ing love this team. I just wished they loved me back. Go ahead, break my heart again this year. Sure I'll be hurt a little... but after feeling the same pain my entire life, every year... it's really not so bad.
It's mindboggling to me that Peter Angelos can still own this team. No Orioles fan I know likes him. He has way too much money at his dissposal to be such a cheap owner. Am I being greedy with these remarks? **** NO! I'm to the point where I feel like Angelos is just doing this **** to mock us fans. He clearly doesn't care about us one bit. I'm sure he knows we all hate him... so what reason would he have NOT to mock us?
Sigh. Needed to rant. Hopefully things turn around this season.
Man, a fellow O's fan offered this bet to me on Friday:
The O's will have a better record than the Nationals at the end of the year
The gambler in me wanted to do it, but I didn't want to root against the O's all season. Now I wish I did the bet. At least when the O's continue to suck this year, I'll have something to show for it.
Watching the O's is worse than a train wreck, now.
With the way that injuries are already starting to pile up to starters the Orioles should be fielding a Triple A team playing in Major League uniforms by Memorial Day. I would love to see this team really get on a roll and threaten 120 losses. Hopefully when they play some of the less talented teams they will continue to show the ineptitude that has set them up for what could be a monumentally atrocious season.
Not to mention is OUTSTANDING no decision (7 innings of 2 hit, no run ball) before his less than stellar 8th which cost him the W (and in turn us the L, but that's hardly on him).
