It's a double-edged sword that the Hawks have been able to perform so well despite so many injuries.
I mean, the Hawks were in it until the end or won against teams like OKC/Indiana/San Antonio with Mike Scott, Shelvin Mack, and Pero Antic playing serious minutes. Coach Bud's a baller.
But there's also probably not a better time to be tanking, or opportunity to given we have no Al and Teague's been hurt so much.
As for trading Teague, I do like him a lot and have been impressed, but also think this might be a chance to sell high on him as I'm not sure he really gets better after this. That doesn't mean giving him away for nothing though, and Ferry has shown he's not going to make a ****ty deal just to make one (see Josh last season).
After dreaming of the 3 seed, we're currently the 8-seed. This team is definitely better than how they've played lately, but we'd need at least the 6 seed to have a fighting chance of making it out of the first round.
Injuries suck. At least Millsap is back now, hopefully we can turn this around.
9/35 on 3s for a game where we were tied with less than a minute to go.
We have a **** ass record in game 7s, but that game went about as poorly as possible from an offensive standpoint and we were still in it until the end.
This team is a ton of fun to watch. It's unfortunate that we haven't been in a position to add top quality through the draft and haven't really hit with the few chances we've had*, but we're not that many pieces away.
* - Draft details since 2012
12-1/23: John Jenkins (useful shooter for a little bit, but injured)
12-2/43: Mike Scott (yeahhhhh, boy)
13-1/17: Dennis Schroder (seems to be improving, hopeful)
13-1/18: Shane Larkin (traded for Bebe Nogueira -now gone- and Mike Muscala -the deepest bench player-)
13-2/47: Raulzinho Neto (turned into Brooklyn's 2015 second rounder)
13-2/50: James Ennis (nada)
14-1/15: Adreian Payne (D Leaguer, really disappointed he didn't work out)
14-2/43: Walter Tavares (stayed in Europe this season)
Basically, none of our last 8 picks have had an immediate impact. Schroder is starting to show some things which is awesome, and Mike Scott turned into a solid contributor after 2 seasons, but I wish we could've gotten just 1 immediate player.
We know that Millsap's deal is up this year, Horford's is up next year, and Brand is 35. We have to find a way to fill those post positions and it doesn't look like it's coming through the draft.
