Well, the Falcons showed heart, they didn't quit, and Julio is a monster. Hope he's okay.

The pass rush was atrocious, again, and the tackling was pathetic, again, and the playcalling/game plan/'stablishing actively cost us win equity. Again.

I've been reluctant to pile on the "Smith and Dimitroff have to go" bandwagon, but that position is getting less and less defensible.

But the good news is this game didn't matter, and next week doesn't matter.

The playoffs start Week 16 in Nola, and then week 17 if necessary. Win those and we're in.

I've had enough. Yes, we've had injuries, but that's not enough of an excuse for the defense being a complete sieve for the last 3+ seasons. Dead last in the NFL in yards allowed per game and yards allowed per play. Seriously? We just don't have the personnel, or coaching, on that side of the ball. That falls on Dimitroff and the defensive staff. They need to go.

Smitty i'm still not sure. Yes, he's terrible in game, but 90% of coaches are. The players seem to still be playing for him..I dunno. I could be persuaded either way.

See, I'm the other way around, I'm more inclined to get rid of Smitty and the staff and keep Dimitroff.

When I'm not super-tired I'll make my case more thoroughly

Where was our offense in the 1h?

D only gave up 12 in 2h

We need a complete game from the entire team

I'm not sure if you're being 100% serious or not but last night's loss absolutely did matter. Our chances of making playoffs would be higher at 6-7 than 5-8.

Quick example. If we won last night, we could beat Steelers and Panthers and clinch division. Wouldn't even need the Saints game. That would put us 8-8 and best Saints could do is 8-8 and we would win TB on division record.

Next week's game against the Steelers is similar as well. Each game matters. Yes, we still have the "win weeks 16 and 17 and we are in" scenario, but that's not all there is to it. Just a tad bit stunned you can say a week 14 game that drops us to a tie "doesn't matter".

If we beat Panthers and lose to Saints

And the Saints split their Bears/Bucs games to end 7-9

Then next week's game against the Steelers decides the division.

There are several similar scenarios. Next week's game matters.

538 has the Steelers game as a 29 percentage point swing. Just a HUGE LOL at saying this game "doesn't matter".

Yes this game definitely is big for us in terms of any breathing potential. Got to find a way to win this one @ home. Should be interesting since both our team and the Steelers play up and down to their competition in a sense. Also someone posted this to twitter about our pash rush. Looking it over why in the hell isn't Mass getting more snaps. Kroy is a nice guy and all but he's been hot garbage ever since his injury from last year

Without the numbers I think we've all noticed with our naked eye Mass can have an impact when he gets snaps.

This is pretty pathetic I gotta say. Tons of empty seats and tons of Stealers fans in those seats that are actually filled. I don't care what happens, I think Blank is gonna clean house after this season.

I don't know how he hasn't cleaned house already. The fact that not a single coach on this team has been replaced during this abortion is incredible.

Because the division is historically bad.

At this point we have to be hoping to lose the next 2 games, right? Guaranteed top 10 pick..probably 6th or 7th. Yea, we'd be hosting a playoff game if we can pull it out, but cmon - this team is a dumpster fire.

Yeah I gotta get on board with firing everybody.

I don't know why I get my hopes up every week before we play. Then the game starts.

Whether or not we make the playoffs, I just hope we beat the Saints in their house.

I hate New Orleans

All year I've been rooting for us to make the playoffs... but we'd have no chance even if we got in.

So yeah I guess it's time to root for draft picks.

I try to find the silver lining in everything...

Matt Ryan is a warrior. He took a VICIOUS shot in the first half then calmly got up and threw a TD to Hester.

We have holes everywhere, but not at QB

I mean, if we make the playoffs at 6-10 or whatever we'd have practically no chance at making it past the 2nd round, plus we'd have the 21st-22nd pick or something

If we miss the playoffs at 5-11 we'd have no chance at making it past the 2nd round...because we wouldn't be there lol. But we'd have the 6th or 7th pick. Such a huge difference. Focus on the D in the draft..maybe starting with Shane Ray. Get some pressure on the QB next season..let's see what happens. If the D can just become average this would be a pretty good football team.

And yea, kind of nice having Matty back there for the next however many seasons. Gives me hope

I'll be rooting for us to win next Sunday.

Week 17 will depend on 16 for me.

I love Matt but I will say in regards to this season when he has made mistakes, they've been pretty awful and come at the worst possible moments. I thought he was done after that hit yesterday, laying on the ground staring up into the sky. I for sure thought concussion, that's a wrap but like you said he composed himself and tossed a dime to Hester for the TD right after. I love going to the Falcons message board and skimming after a loss, Matt gets trashed by some real psychos in there from time to time.

The illegal contact on 3rd down when we stopped them was extremely questionable but am I the only one who noticed the Steelers false start on the 3rd and 1 play to end the game? Someone go back and watch, it was a Steeler on the left side. My friend and I snap called it out too at the same time.

Rumors are Blank is going to fire Smith and maybe keep Dimitroff. If Dimitroff keeps his job i'll just be beside myself. That would be ridiculous.

I don't care if losing out would have been better long-term,

Feels good to sweep the Saints.
