sports radio, people i know, etc.

no one is saying it will be "easy" but everyone i hear is talking like this game is 50/50 or we are a 3 point dog, no one talking like we are the 6.5 dog we are

^ basically what TJ said - everyone looking ahead to our path and how "fortunate" it is

I bought the .5 and made it +7

I feel like it all comes down to if we can keep Gurley in check.

I think our corners/pass rush can match up with Tavon Austin, Cooper Kupp, a possibly banged-up Robert Woods, and Jared Goff in his first playoff game.

But if Gurley goes for 150+, we're gonna have a tough time.

I think we have a big edge in personnel but they're hungry and unbroken by a crushing SB choke. And of course McVay >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Quinn.

It honestly just feels like we're about to get curbstomped. Rams are going to score a lot of points imo and matty ice/drunk sark won't be able to keep up.

I always bristle when I hear Falcons fans talking bad about Quinn. I have friends on facebook who never gave Sark a chance and who think Quinn's decision-making is fireable. I'm not talking about some questionable in-game decisions, which gets a disproportionate amount of hate from fans at home on their couches.

Yes, he had a bad 2nd half of the Super Bowl, yes there are some 4th down kick/go for it spots I wish he'd done differently, yes that jet sweep against the Pats was asinine.

The things that make up 90%+ of what the head coach's job is, he's done spectacularly well. Remember, we were in the shambles of the Mike Smith "get tougher, fat guys to clog the line so LB's can blitz freely!" -era. He's changed the culture... that's the first question prospective coaches get in the job interview, how are you going to change the culture?

In just 3 drafts, Quinn has completely rebuilt the defense to the image of what made Seattle's D great: cover corners, hard hitting safeties that can cover TE's and help in the box, sideline-to-sideline LB's, and a D-line that can get a push up the middle and off the edge.

What Shanahan did best was set opposing defenses up to see one thing and get burned by the other. Admittedly, Sark is no Shanahan.

I'm just saying I'm giving Quinn the benefit of the doubt. And looking around the league at some of the other headset-wearers, it could be a whole lot worse.

I dont know. I like Quinn's attitude, personality, and mindset - especially in regard to player evaluation and defensive x's and o's. I just question his intelligence and strategies - offensively and in game situations. I don't know if he's the sharpest tool in the shed when he gets out of his comfort zone (defensive specialist).

I don't even think Quinn is bad. Probably at least above average in terms of overall coaching ability relative to other head coaches. But McVay seems elite.

Also I don't get all the love for this defense. Collinsworth? kept saying during the broadcast how much the defense has improved and it hasn't? 22nd in DVOA.

Ok now I see we're 8th in pts and 9th in yds this season. Kind of surprising to me.

That was the most complete performance by the defense we've seen all season.

Deion Jones and Bryan Poole especially had several great open field tackles.

The offense's step on the throat mentality is what we had last year and lacked to show consistently this year

I'm not overlooking them, because they still have a monster D-line, but Philly looks about as beatable a #1 seed at home can possibly look

Incredible job by the defense. Dline was getting pressure...linebackers making all kinds of plays...Trufant/Alford and co were tremendous.

Going for it on 4th and inches from the 20 was nice to see.

Open as 2.5 favs @ Philly!

Just read an article talking about whether Matt Ryan is a "cold weather qb". I think the weather card is incredibly overplayed in talking NFL. So you're telling me that a guy who grows up and plays college in Florida is going to be better in cold weather just because he got drafted by GB and played there for 2-3 years? Give me Matt Ryan, he grew up in PA, college in Boston, he knows a little about playing in the cold I think. Just a very bizarre angle that I think too many people under think.

Tough game in Philly. Coleman had a nice game, but Devonta got basically nothing all game. Julio made one amazing, game-on-the-line 4th down play, and missed another. Simple as that.

I've never believed in the Yankees' "Every season you don't ship is a failure." We made it back to the playoffs after the worst possible Super Bowl hangover.

Most importantly, the defense took another step forward. With another draft and FA class, I think we can take another step to the upper echelon of NFL defenses.

The offense returns basically everyone.

It sounds like Sark is on his way to Seattle. If we get a good OC in there, watch out.

An interesting question is what direction we go in the draft.

I guess we need another DT to pair with Grady after we probably can't afford Poe again.

Need some depth at both offensive guard positions.

Other than that I don't see any glaring holes throughout the whole roster.

Besides OC, obv.

Seattle got some other retread for OC. Sark is probably gonna be here next year imo. Sigh.

I saw a mock draft with us taking DT Da'Ron Payne from Bama...YES PLEASE

you know when quinn has to open up the finale press conference with saying he's going to address the elephant in the room and we're backing sark, that we are in a completely f'd situation.

if everyone is going to go back to 2016 to compare the situation with kyle('s first year), then i'm going to compare whatever we see in 2018 with 2017 (both OC's 2nd year).

These red zone issues are just inexplicable at this point

For Julio to have such a monster game, to move the ball so well between the 20's, how can it be this hard for Sark to punch it in

I thought the defense played really well until they were gassed in the 2nd half, just like the Super Bowl

Hope Keanu's okay, that left knee didn't look good, twice

But if he's not, Kazee had a great preseason
