That play by Dansby to end the game tonight was awesome. Awful game but incredible ending

I guess this team is on house money during hte playoffs but it would be cool to make a little run and knock out someone

That's the way I feel about it too.
The NL especially is wide open.
Until Mike Foltynewicz and Sean Newcomb turn into something like Trevor Bauer, we won't have the starting pitching to make it deep deep into the playoffs. But I think they will, eventually.
But for now I think we can surprise some people.

Yes it does
Let's talk playoff rotation
I think Folty is pretty clearly our game 1 starter. Beyond that, I'm not sure of much of anything.
I think I want... gasp... Anibal in game 2? Seems weird to say but I think I trust him more than Julio at this point.
Then go... Gausman for game 3? I really want it to be Newcomb somewhere, but he looks like he's really faded down the stretch as the months wore on. This is his first full MLB season and while I'm still high on him long-term, he's not a 200 IP workhorse yet.

Welp... I told friends before the playoffs that EVEN if the Braves get swept, we're so far ahead of schedule that it can only be considered a great season... Dammit if I have to live up to that, but still. Great year.
Our offense will be just fine, Acuna/Albies/Freddie is a hell of a core to build around. Foltynewicz has improved steadily every year, I'm hoping he becomes what Trevor Bauer was this year by as soon as next year.
It'll be interesting to see what they do with Markakis... I get that he's a leader and everyone looks up to him, but I think he tailed off and was empty average after May. I thank him for his service and find a cleanup hitter who can pop more than 14 homers.

Yea, love Markakis but that's an upgrade that needs to happen. We should have enough money and prospect capita to fill every hole on this roster really. Need some established vets...like 1 SP, 2-3 RPs, RF, C, and bench pieces.
Helluva season. Can't wait to see what Acuna and co. will do next year.

Josh Donaldson, 1 year $23M.
I approve... he's only 33, plays great defense, no such thing as a bad 1 year deal.
Welcome home, BMAC!
...Plz hit better than .210 and coach up the young pitchers

Not a bad day imho. Greatly improves 3B and bench assuming we sign someone to play RF

Nick Markakis signs for 1 year, $4M with a club option for $6M next year
I had wanted something better, but I'm fine with it at that price.
He's basically a bench bat/4th outfielder for that price

Yeah that really sucks and makes me angry as a fan
This is why I hate that we're owned by a corporation that's only looking at dollars and sense, and not a rich, successful, somewhat ego-driven smart person who wants to win, like Arthur.
The good news is this probably guarantees at least a level of competence for the team on the field, right?
I think ownership's goal is to win 84-88 games a year, always be in the mix for the playoffs, but unless the pitching blossoms into something special, will never have the frontline starters to win multiple playoff series.
