Making Thomas a starter seems like a smart move. He was pretty good last year over 12-13 starts. Avilan is our only lefty now tho..what could possibly go wrong...

P.S. something has to be done to try and jumpstart this offense. Most obvious move? Bring up La Stella and let him take some ABs away from Uggla and CJ...mostly Uggla. Send down Pastornicky. Easy game.

Well in terms of run production we've been fine since he was hired after the 2011 season. 7th in the NL in runs in 2012, 4th last season. Of course last season's rungood with RISP was a big part of that. But he also had to deal with Uggla and BJ being lolbad.

It's really hard to tell how much influence Walker even has on these players. But I think there has been an uptick in aggression in general under his watch..K% has gone up..BB% has gone down. But that may just be personnel. I dunno. Basically Walker will probably be the fall guy if this continues but who knows what effect firing him will have.

Joe Posnanski had a really good article recently, Which Managers Were The Best Players.

cliffs: Fredi got 29th out of 30.

He hit .199 in the minors in 44 games played, TOTAL, at AA
