Yeah, cant imagine what we will do with a healthy Heyward.

Re: Atlanta Braves

Even when Heyward was at his best early on, he was still only hitting .280

Re: Atlanta Braves

Carlos Beltran is only a .280 hitter for his entire career, Heyward still has time to improve.

People itt making him sound like Albert Pujols like he's going to dramatically change the offense from mediocre to the 27 Yankees.

if heyward was on the mets, you would be slurping his nuts 10 times harder than them

Re: Atlanta Braves

he was on pace to hit like 25hr and drive in 100+ runs before he got hurt. that's not going to improve the offense?

Re: Atlanta Braves

I don't think we have a significant enough sample size to accurately project his mean.

Until then it's fun to dream imo.

Re: Atlanta Braves

.280 hitters that walk a lot and have power are well above average.

If Heyward's career turned out similar to Beltran's I'd be happy.

Actually when he hurt his thumb (May 14th) he was hitting .299/.425/.608/.1033...and in his last 8 games before the injury he was 10-18 with 1 K and 7 BB. So basically he was just getting used to the league and then he got injured.

Hell even with the injury that month he hit .337/.453/.628/.1081..but then the pain just got to him in June...a little problem of only being able to grab the bat with one hand..

So you know what? It isn't out of the realm of possibility to actually get Albert Pujols type numbers when he's healthy.

And lol at the offense being 'mediocre'..it's average at worst.

Re: Atlanta Braves

There's no doubt in any rational person's mind that Heyward is a special talent.

20 year old hitters with power usually aren't as polished as he is, the guy has been criticized for being too patient at the plate.

He has a ton of potential, comparing him to any of the greats isn't that big of a stretch right now.

Can we please, for once, make Moyer look like an old man instead of 1994 Maddux?

Success always brings out the haters Borgland.

If we were sub-.500 right now SOT would be ****ing with the Phillies.

I don't mind throwing a bone to the less fortunate every now and again, they are Mets fans .

Where's your compassion?

100% on board with you SoulPower, that crafty bastard gives us fits every time, we're due to get to him.

Re: Atlanta Braves

FWIW, in the MLB regular season thread I did pick the Braves to win the division before the season started and the Mets to win the wild card ldo. I don't even troll that hard, you all are way too sensitive and are complete life nits like you need to get off the rag or something (with a few exceptions Jtown, hard2tell being apart of those exceptions) Trolling rival fans is apart of baseball and it's not like I come in here and say 'LOL SUCK IT GUYS, YOUR TEAM IS DOG****'

Re: Atlanta Braves

We have a good-natured group of Braves fans ITT, nobody is on the rag, I just don't think they come here to argue.

The black line guy made a great suggestion in the Phillies thread imo, we should have an NL East thread to troll each other.

Re: Atlanta Braves

Yeah, but the stuff you say makes you look stupid. Try coming with something factual.

And good thing you picked the Braves, at least you can save face after your Mets have their annual collapse. Will be fun watching y'all try to explain that away.

+1. This is a great idea.

Team threads should be for fans only.

Cody Ross could be a possible upgrade for center. He's had 22 and 24 HRs the last 2 years, and 9 so far this season. Probably a long shot as Florida might be reluctant to deal him within the division. But I didn't think Atlanta would have ever trade Francouer to the Mets.

Re: Atlanta Braves

He's a solid player. Our defense though is already below average with a good/great CF..it would be bad with Ross in CF.

But his added production would surely make up for it i'm sure. Let's hope FLA struggles the next couple weeks so they become definite sellers.
