Mark Bowman is generally dead on with his predictions re: Braves transactions. He thinks the Braves are targeting a "front-line starting pitcher".

Probably necessary but man it's gonna hurt. Just please don't trade Peraza/La Stella/Sims/Graham/Wood/Bethancourt

Unless Cliff Lee becomes available. in that case trade everyone

Just listened to Wren interview on 680.

He said the standard stuff, going to check on everyone, etc.

He did say that there are about 4 guys in the system that are untouchable, and he wouldn't trade under any circumstances. I'd imagine if he's being honest he's talking about Wood, Graham, Sims, and...?

I'd imagine with the emergence of Gattis as a legitimate MLB catcher Bethancourt could be moved.

I'd also imagine Joey Terdoslavich could be moved if necessary.

He also said they weren't interested in adding a SP before Huddy injury. Weren't even really looking into it.

You can't stop Minor, just hope to contain him.

F it, get through the NLDS and give Minor the ball games 1,4, and 7 in NLCS and WS

We can scratch Josh Johnson off the list. He's getting hammered again today. 5IP 6ER, but 8K. No clue why he fell off a cliff this season.
5.99 era 1.56 whip after career 3.33 - 1.26

As far as JJ's decline, it could be that he was benefiting from the Marlins park, or he's getting hurt by the park in Toronto. 1.26 career whip seems high for a 3.3 career era.

Did anybody else see the graphic during yesterdays game where they showed the top 5 batting avgs in the NL and then showed a bullet that notes that no #8 hitter has ever won a batting title. I laughed pretty hard.

I continue to have no idea what Wren's move will be in the upcoming days. I will be surprised if he stands still though.

Has to be so demoralizing for the Nats. They finally string together 3 straight wins on a weekend where we are playing the Cards. Figure to gain at least a game in the standings, maybe two. Nope.

Any crazy stats which I've never heard of that show that Avilan is just running hot and not as ridic as his regular stats show?

.88 whip and 1.29 era

He doesn't strike a ton of guys out but he's getting it done.

Do the Braves have some sort of super designer HGH just for relievers? He's 24 and it says he's not a FA until 2019??? That can't be right, right?

Pretty sure Uggla means strikeout in some language

Yeah his walk and K rate indicate that what he is doing is not close to sustainable. But, he could run hot for the rest of the year. Who knows, enjoy it while it lasts. This is relief pitching for ya.

Deadline looming. Beachy going tomorrow and Wood again on Tuesday.

I think we will just end up adding a reliever now, then a bench guy or two during August (random dudes that clear waivers/are already FAs) just to see if they stick. Wren probably okay with bench if they all get healthy as Gattis, Reed, Schafer, Laird, Janish/Pastornicky is probably as good as you can get at this point.

Still hope we land Lincecum somehow.
