Just got back. Atmosphere was amazing. Traffic was ridiculous. 1-0.

solid first game. i bet the over 3.5 team runs +110. I am going to bet the over on braves runs all season i think, we got some bats.

Yes, very much this. We ended up just parking over in Grant Park and walking over to the backside of the stadium because getting anywhere close to it was a mess.

Since I live over in O4W area, that will probably be the plan of attack for most games going forward. At least it keeps me away from all of the interstate traffic.

It feels like Heyward and Freeman have been around forever but they are still just 23?! Can't we just lock them up for 8 years or something? Damn TV deal... If the Braves had any kind of financial flexibility they would be able to build a freaking dynasty out of these guys. I guess we have to settle for 2-3 years before they put on pinstripes or Dodgers blue or whatnot.

For sure. We had what, 2 lefties in the lineup last night? One of them was Freeman and he crushed the ball off of Hamels anyway.

Pumped we got that W. For months I thought Hamels would come out Opening Day and carve us up. Glad to see we got to him a little bit.

Couple first takes:

- Mildly concerned about Huddy. He didn't have a great Spring, and it seems like his age might be getting to him a bit. He definitely seemed pretty gassed by the 5th, and couldn't locate well at all.

- Chris Johnson has a pretty sweet swing. He's bad defensively, like worst in the league probably, but man he looks like he can really hit. He and Juan should provide a lot of offense from the hot corner.

- Freddie hitting an elite LHP like that is an exciting thing for Braves fans.

- Bullpen is way shallower without Venters. We were so lucky past few years to generally have 3 quality LH relief options (Venters, EOF, Sherril/Avilan), but now with only two it gets pretty thin when you are trying to match up late in a game.

- Justin Upton has some ridiculous power. You don't see many balls hit that far towards CF that far up into the stands. That was awesome.

Feels good to be 1-0. So annoyed that there is an offday today. Let's get the W on Wednesday so we can win our first series without having to beat Cliff Lee.
