So crazy we're 2.5 GB despite a 9 game losing streak on our resume. Let us continue to gogogo.

Yeah WTF? It's either that or his **** is too good, and it looks terrible for the batter, despite ending up close. These are the times that I wish we had offered Maddux a lifetime contract and made him pitching coach the year after he retired. He was such a master at figuring out those little edges, and Hanson may be playing 2 levels above his opponent rather than the optimal 1.

Great win today though!

We would look so sick if we can get career average production out of Jurrjens, Chipper, and Escobar right now.

edit:

Deviate back towards the norm you bastards!

that was ****ing ridiculous. Hudson should not of been made to pitch through that. If they put the tarp on now before Nolasco has to deal with it I'm gonna be so pissed

i was thinking the same thing, but i think since Nolasco struggled through his half of the inning they were thinking the same thing with Hudson. The rain got worse and then it was blatantly unfair by the end of it.

Given the first three pitches in the AB it really was a miracle he made it out without giving up at least one more run.

Huge win.

Now lets hope there isn't a let down at home against PIT with Philly comin up.

If someone would of told me we'd only be 1.5 games back of Philly at this time with the tough early schedule i'd have insta took it. Now we just gotta get through these next 3 weeks.

Me too.

Did anyone see where Joe Simpson said he was talking to the Marlins TV announcer before the game? That guy was telling Joe about how nice all the Braves were when he visited the locker room. They had a real relaxed atmosphere. I was reading one of the Atl fish wrappers that was talking about how the locker room last year seemed dominated by a couple of attention whores that are no longer with the team(cough,Frenchy, cough).

What a difference a epic rookie right fielder makes over a guy that was more concerned about how he looks on a magazine cover than improving as a player. Too bad because then we could have had a outfield of Heyward LF, Frenchy RF, and McOut, Diaz, Hinske CF/OF depth. Probably wouldnt have traded for Cabrera if we had kept Frenchy but probably would have still traded Vasquez because of cheap ass Liberty Media.

Big homestand with 3 against Pitt, then 3 against Philly. They could do some damage here and possibly take over the division before heading out on a 11 game roadtrip to LA, Arizona, and Minnesota.

Go Braves!

Chipper is now the franchise leader in walks. 1338* and counting....

*oops- it's 1378 and counting. Dont want to short the man.

2nd edit to add- he's got 35 on the season which is third in MLB. So he's still getting on, just needs to get the avg up

Awesome game last night. I feel sorry for anyone who came for the fireworks; that second rain delay when we were up by four runs in the top of the 9th must have been brutal...

I was looking at the Pirates' run differential stats and they are outlandish. They've scored the second fewest runs (161) and allowed the second most runs (285) of anyone in MLB. How the hell are they even at .400? I saw this on ESPN.com and assumed it was a mistake at first. They are 7 wins above the Expected W/L as calculated by MLB.com; the furthest away anyone else is in either direction from the XW/L calcuation is 2 games!

It's crazy to think you can be running so ridiculously hot statistically and still be playing .400 baseball.

How good is Heyward? His .991 OPS lead the NL. Incredible for a rookie.

McLouth you are terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if Bobby starts sitting him in favor of Melky in CF and Hinski in left..at least against lefties.

unreal how bad kawakami runs

seems like one of those games where we can't get a break and end up losing..but we'll see. Would be huge to win and only be half a game back of philly with that series starting tomorrow.
