Cincy has a number of odd incentives.
Assuming that they are trying to minimize the chances of playing the Phillies without HFA, it would seem they want either: (1) to end up in second place overall (2) for the Braves not to win the WC. (2) would seem to imply they wouldn't want to tear apart the Padres.
But then again, the only way they can be a lock to avoid the Phils is to be second in win%.
I would guess they will be up for it in light of all that.
