Ozzie is incredible at 2nd, wow
Dansby is great and all but could you imagine Andrelton and Ozzie in the same infield?

Actually getting pretty excited for this Braves team and especially what we could see in 2019
1B Freddie
2B Ozzie
SS Dansby
3B Riley
C ?
RF Acuna
CF Inciarte
LF ?
SP Newcomb, Soroka, Folty, ?, ?. Teheran is toast imo. Touki Toussaint, Kyle Wright, Fried, Allard..all possibilities
RP Vizcaino, Minter, Biddle, etc
If a few of our pitching prospects come through and Riley is for real we could legit afford to pay Harper 40 or even 50 mil per...a man can dream

I don't think Julio is toast. Yes, especially the last 2 years have been below what we hoped for from him.
Even with as bad as he's been (especially vs LHB, and especially at home), he's been a very durable starter on a reasonable contract. That has a lot of value, even if it's just league-average innings.

If it's league average innings then by all means leave him in there. Not sure he's that good anymore

Dodged a major bullet with Freddie's wrist there
Hopefully this won't sap his power all year long

Just a reminder that Albies and Acuna are already this good and we have them under team control for 5 and 6 more years
I'd say the present and the immediate future look pretty bright

Also, rumors of Teheran being done appear to be greatly exaggerated

Worth keeping in mind that we can do basically anything we want on the trade market also.
Young cost-controlled starting pitching is theoretically the most valuable thing on the trade market, and can get anything else. We remember the haul we got for Shelby Miller.
So if someone's available (Machado?) we can go out and get them just by overpaying with our army of young, high upside pitchers that haven't made the majors yet.
It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Allegedly there's no such thing as too much pitching, but we can't possibly play all the guys we have.

Yea for sure. There's a stream of high upside prospects at all levels right now. Definitely think we should use that capita for proven MLB talent but I am apprehensive about big rentals this year. Please please don't get into a bidding war with LAD for Machado unless we seriously think we have legit WS equity at the trade deadline.
Sign Machado or Harper plus a SP and bullpen pieces in the offseason -> own the NL East for the next 6-7+ years

I know he's really good and I should be happy to have him,
it's just that hating Bryce Harper is such a large part of my Braves identity, I enjoy rooting against him

Winkler and Vizcaino both well wested and still haven't seen the field in the 11th with Nats heart of the lineup coming up. Interesting

I knew this Greek named Nicky, I guess you could say he was an RBI fiend .

I resisted picking Markakis up in fantasy because I was like "come on, we have quite a large sample of Nick being what he is."
I guess Contract Year Markakis will finally make the All Star Game, good for him

Humor me with this thought experiment.
Suppose Philly wins the East this year and the Braves make the Wild Card.
Who will Snit choose to start the do-or-die game?
Folty, Newcomb, or ANIBAL?
Not who should it be, or who gives us the best chance to win, but who does Snitker CHOOSE

I would just like to point out that Brad Brach's WHIP is 1.65.
Snitker uses him like he's Josh Hader or something

Has Camargo played his way into the long-term plans at 3B?
He's been soooooo good since the All-Star Break

Hell yes he has. Maybe Riley will push him into a super utility role eventually but in my mind 3B is taken care of for the next decade or so
