I know it's a day late, but one answer to this conundrum is Castillo being more aggressive. He should know they're gonna pitch around him for obvious reasons, and he should also know that if he walks, the game is essentially over for obvious reasons. Why can't he look for a certain spot off the plate and if it comes that way clobber it. But no, he didn't even try. He was perfectly content to walk, probably never even entertaining the real possibility that if you're doing what your enemy wants you to do you're probably doing it wrong.
