I was half watching, but I know Chafin was in at some point in the 9th. I think it was all him. Reed gave up the last hit that scored a runner Chafin put on, but then got the next guy out.

Don't know if you're on Facebook, and if you are, do you follow Dbacks Nation. He gives a lot of updates on the minor league guys and some of these guys are looking great so far. Peter O'Brien is hitting almost .500 with 6 HR and 16 lolRBIs. Now if only he could learn to play catcher better.
A few of the highest rated pitching prospects have been pretty dominant too. The next couple years are looking promising.

1 run a game isn't gonna get it done.

Yeah, we were going to stay through the Dbacks at bat in the 9th until Reed gave up the run then my wife signaled, lets get the f out of here. We were 3/4ths of the way home when Tomas got out.

Disappointing to see the pitching staff doing a very adequate job but the offense struggling. I was expecting the exact opposite.

Must be nice. Actually ours isn't too bad. We were home about 30-35 minutes after leaving the parking garage.

Yeah, pretty crappy weekend. Two runs scored.

Starting off down 3-0 isn't real encouraging when they haven't scored that many in their last 3 games....combined.

Remember when the Brewers scored 10 runs and lost by 6 after scoring that amount combined in their previous 6 games?

Lol....not sure if that's an attempt to make me feel better, or let me know that regardless of how many runs we score it won't be enough.

Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks, because it looked pretty bad.

I've been as patient with Reed as anybody, but if he can't start getting people out, we're gonna need to start thinking about giving someone else a shot in the closer's role.

Nice too see some guys remembering/learning how to hit these past 2 games.

Ok pope, time to play manager. What happens when Lamb comes back? With Tomas holding his own at the plate and everyone in the already crowded OF hitting well right now, it looks like there's gonna be a struggle to get everybody enough at bats.
I guess I'm ok with a consistent 4 man OF rotation, but I want Lamb in there at 3B most every day once he's back. I understand Tomas is signed to be around for a long time, but who's place does he take? Trumbo because of his salary?
Also, did we find our future closer last night?

Future closer is a bit of a leap for someone making their first appearance in a very low stress situation.
When Lamb comes back, send either Tomas down or release Pennington. Hill can be our utility infielder at this point with Pennington playing pretty poorly in the field. Obviously small sample, but I have not been happy with Pennington.

The closer comment was definitely meant jokingly. As for Pennington, yeah he hasn't looked very good so far this year, but I don't think they'll just eat the 4 million they're paying him...or whatever it is. He's too versatile to let go imo.
Could Lamb beat Tomas in a foot race right now? Even with the walking boot on. My god Tomas is slow. Like, slower than most pitchers and catchers slow. At least it appears that way.

They ate Ross' contract, and that was for much more.
