I also think some people have a bit of leak wrt balancing of funds between D/M/F when considering the kind of return D can get. Particularly in cash where you are trying not to rely on clean sheets.

In cash I build from the back starting with the keeper. That potential +10 is often what is going to make or break you in a cash game. Get it right and you have a significant advantage
Then defense you can get a top defender for the same price as an average midfielder and they can score nicely with crosses. Of course this all depends on matchup and who is available at what price.
There are almost always bargains at forward depending on matchup. I was comfortable with this but agüero killed an otherwise really good lineup on more than one occasion to the point where you had to play him and eat the salary. Him being out only helps what I want to do
