NBA with no late swap looks pre-emptive move before a merger. So guessing they will modify the other games too. I play small volume on Fan Duel soccer, to be honest can not be bothered much to work out their scoring.
Yeah thats what the rumours are. My mate works for Fan Duel in the UK. I txt him yday about the merger. He says they havent been told officially but everyone in his office is expecting it to happen. Apparently both companies are short on cash and when you read things like this, no wonder.
"According to iSpot.tv estimates, DraftKings and FanDuel together have funneled $107 million into the networks' coffers since Sept. 1. Nearly half ($50.3 million) of that outlay was spent on national NFL broadcasts on CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN and NFL Network."
From what I gather they advertise so aggressively to get people to sign up to their DFS site first before the other one gets them. Then the TV networks leverage them against each to other to creating bidding wars for the commercial spots.
During the legal battles in NY both DK and FD already started working together to fight the legal cases. Then they decided both companies are fighting the same legal battles and they are cutting each others throats in the advertising game so merging seems to make sense on that account.
They might face some anti-trust issues for effectively monopolising the market. If you look at what a tyrant PokerStars has become from being a monopoly with their constant rake increases and VIP cuts it is a legit concern when a company doesnt have any rivals to compete with.
