It's actually unbelievable how dog**** Salah is. Just unreal. Not sure why I drafted him. Last game he did the same, seems like a huge threat, but doesn't cross and clearly can't score. He's like a terrible form of Robben.

Thank god I focus on other sports, wouldn't be able to handle all of this. Assuming they'll be adding La Liga, etc soon as well.

Now we are talking. This is the way forward if they claim to be a top daily fantasy provider. The Europa League has been much better than the Champions League this season. Been playing it from the start of the season so familiar with most teams and players.

There is some cracking ties for the Round of 16. Liverpool vs Man Utd meet first time ever in an European competition. Dortmund and Tottenham will be matching styles, pressing and full of energy. Dortmund are a fantastic team and rightly favourites for the competition.

You have Athletico Bilbao vs Valencia, a Spanish Derby where Aduritz at 34 years old is making a mockery of the claim that players get rubbish with older age. You have Seville going for unprecedented third successive Europa League title, that will be some achievement if they can pull it off.

Outsiders to win it look Fenerbache to me. Europa League is filled with upcoming star players. Champions League is all about established players. Differentials galore for DFS picks in Europa contests.

Now if Draft Kings can adjust their scoring in the summer. They can claim to have the best DFS in football. Adding the big European Leagues especially La Liga and Serie A is a no brainer. There is a lot of fans of these leagues and their teams.

For now I have a name for their game. "Better find crossers or go home empty".

There is more to life than daily fantasy games. It just a means to an end. You got to box clever and make the most out of it.

Here is a cool person as an example. Learned to day trade, used that to travel the world and see a lot of diverse places which is his passion. Now he teaches others to day trading.

The other grind is working a 9 to 5 and giving your precious time to make profit for someon else. Rock and a hard place they say for a good reason, the choices we face at best of times.

Btw anyone clued up on what happens on DK if a Champions League game goes to extra time? Can players still score points in ET?

I would assume players can only score points in the 90 minutes, however it does say for Def/GK:

"Goalkeepers/Defenders must play at least 60 minutes to qualify for the clean sheet bonus. The player’s team (regardless if he is still playing or not) must allow zero goals respectively over the course of regular time and extra time to qualify. Injury time is not counted in a player's total minutes played."

I believe they score for the 30 Mins extra time. That is what happened on MondoGoal too, when Olympiakos went to extra time.

I wanted to punt on DK tonight, but I could not deposit as I keep failing GeoLocation on Chrome, even though I have enabled the location.

Any experience in this or ideas?

You defo in an eligible country?

Chrome works fine for me, most of the time. I sometimes get kicked out too cos of that GeoLocation thing. Try internet explorer or the Iphone/Android app.

If all else fails I would shoot customer service an email they usually get back pretty promptly.

On DK I realise you can see how other footballers are scoring by having a scout around at your opponents teams.

But is there anyway to see how every player in the team is scoring? Would be good to be able to just click on PSG and see how every PSG player is scoring during the game. Cant see any way to do this?

I have had a horrendous time trying to fix this going through support about five times and dealing with some right idiots. Problem being most fixes would work for half a day and then the problem would come back. They finally sorted it yesterday and touch wood it has worked since.

Ensure you've done all the things on these links

https://www.draftkings.co.uk/lp/pcgeofaqs

Then reset your cache and cookies in chrome then reboot your router and hopefully that will work.

Or you could just clear cache and cookies then use an incognito window which also worked for me. If not you all to have to email support

Hope it gets sorted

fish fresh out of water here. I've been playing poker online/live professionally for the last ten years and I'm thinking I want to jump into the dfs sharktank. I've steered clear of dfs completely up til now but considering I spend a hilarious amount of time dicking around with my FPL team/reading statistical and tactical blogs/watching matches and highlights from all over the world I might as well dabble in a little dfs for ****s and giggles.

total noob question. Is $100 enough to play around with while getting of grasp of the dfs landscape over the last couple months of the season? I understand if it's like every poker bankroll question ever, than the answer is "It Depends" but would I be drawing completely dead? how sharked up are the lower buyin EPL/europa league games?

fwiw I'm in the US. is draft kings the go too?

Cheers gents!

Thanks for the info Dan. Find this geo-location nonsense very excessive and off-putting. Till they fix it properly I am just using the app, the desktop version drives one crazy with all the location not found blocking.

Surely they can check location from customer's initial registration and postal address. A UK resident can be on holiday, away for work or so many other reason that should not bar them from playing.

Ironic how they operating in New York and not worried about location with all the legal problems they facing there. In the UK they regulated and operating with a licence, so no need for location paranoia.

Hi PuraVida, welcome to the DFS world. There was Draft 11, a soccer DFS site from the US and with decent free roll's. I would have recommended them for starting with but looks like they have folded. I can no longer access their site or twitter account.

The other one is DraftGoal and have a look at that. Draft Kings is the biggest site around and hard to say how sharked up it is. From my initial impression it looks that way, so best to try out games where multi-entrants are restricted to a few.

$100 is enough to start with and the more important part is patience. You can use the remaining games of the season to play a few contests and see where you stand. You might double/triple the initial deposit and be ready for the long grind next season.

Europa League is good timing as it is a new contest they offering should be softer to win. Good luck.

Having a fairly bad experience with Draft Kings Customer Support. I am still unable to pass the Geolocation (I am Nottingham, England) and when I email, it is as if they have not read the chain.

For the third or fourth email, I genuinely got sent a one line email with a link to the geolocation page for Draft Kings, which happens to be the same one that you are taken to every five minutes or so, when you fail the test.

I know I can make lineups on my mobile, but my mobile doesn't have two monitors and I feel uncomfortable doing it, when I am still learning the site.

Guess this turned into a rant =(

Good luck for all today, Donkey x

Thanks for taking the time to answer Dan =)

I have tried these steps and can't seem to get it to work.

I can see something about needing wifi on the desktop, I use IP over Mains (directly plugged into wall socket). Does anyone else use this and are able to pass the geolocation in the UK (without wifi)?

There are free practice contests and you can beginner contests for your first 50 entries as well. If you want to use proper brm then $100 won't let you play very big volume (maybe like 10x $1 contests per slate or something) but I would recommend just diving in anyway and seeing how it goes!

You will see most of the good players at every buyin level so keep that in mind when looking at which contests to enter. The stakes still increase in difficulty though as you increase the entry fee due to the fact that there are more weaker players at the lower levels.

If anyone currently or has the same issue in future, the way I currently work round it is:

- Log Out
- You can now open contests and edit a lineup
- Set lineup on mobile.
- Log back in during contests; you can see the scoring, and you can hit "Back" from the geolocation anyway.

A little irritating, but there we go.

How much to player prices fluctuate from week to week?

I'm currently watching spurs/dortmund while playing around with a DK lineup for their 12k this weekend but with just two games on the slate i'll just pass. Does DK offer deposit bonuses?

The prices do not fluctuate very much. On DK you will need to find value players under 3000 to enable you to load up on the high priced midfielders and strikers. Some fixtures are hard to find value especially when it is two or three fixtures. Some fixtures are much easier like Europa League games tonight where there was a lot of value especially on defenders priced under 3000.

Agree two fixtures is scrapping the barrel and best to pass. They do offer deposit bonus which will expire within three months. So best to deposit with that in mind. I deposited $185 and got the $185 bonus. I have before mid-June before the bonus expires, by then should be able to know if their games are to my liking.

Thanks! Appreciate the info. Good to know prices are fairly static, so there's a bit of a learning curve at first to familiarize oneself with price points and corresponding value (just like FPL at the beginning of the season). I've been going back through this thread and I've bookmarked several of the links you've shared. Lots of stuff to sift through. One last Q for now, I've seen the term "pivoting" used...is this when games in a slate have multiple start times and you strategically switch a player with a late game based on lineup information after early games start?

Yes, lots of links and info in the forum. Hope you find it helpful as well. The scoring on DK is kind of funny, Reus for Dortmund had a very lowly 5% ownership as people "pivoted" towards others who take set-piece and lots of crosses. He scored a brace and nice points haul. If this was any other DFS game, Reus will be first pick to be drafted on most line-up.

That is my understanding of "pivoting". They pivoted towards Mikhtaryian, he had a whopping 78% ownership, just for his set piece duties and crosses. Reus outscored him two to one making his 5% owners very happy.

It can also be used to mean making a strategic choice when doing swap from later games. Most players tend to draft from the earlier fixtures, so a player with few utility slots & spare salary to swap in the later games can have an advantage. The earlier finishers counting their cash get overtaken at the end.

Wishing a player to just cross, cross, cross is amusing. Instead of crossing, they get subbed off or booked. Variance in these games is so hard to nail it.
