In a read-option offense with very little talent around him, he is somehow a top 10 fantasy QB. That should say a lot about him. If you're expecting him to be Manning or Luck, that's on you.

so i play in a small buy in ($100) league with friends (i know 2 or 3 guys in the league don't know the rest).

i wasn't even paying attention but i just looked at everything and let me know what you think of this situation.

last week i play lets call it team jeff.

jeff starts CJ anderson vs me who scores 27pts.
he has ivory in his bench who puts up 5.

this week he's playing someone else and that team has to win in order for them to get in coupled with me losing (i'm playing the 1st place team).

in that matchup jeff benches CJ anderson who's playing one of the worst run defenses in the league and starts ivory who's playing the 7th best run defense in the league.

obv jeff loses and i lose and therefore i'm eliminated from the final spot.

i don't really care about the $ its very small league, but it seems super ****ing unethical.

is there anything i'm missing in this equation?
is there some scenario where starting ivory over cj anderson makes any sense?

keep in mind jeff is out of playoff contention already.

While it sucks, and might be something unethical at hand, there is absolutely nothing you can really do now that comes across as anything other than sour grapes.

Not only that, but its not like the Jets didn't run the ball, Geno only threw 13 passes all game, its just that the distribution went a lot more CJ2K's way than Ivorys. Yes, I would have played CJ Anderson ahead of him, but I don't think its that bad all things considered.

How a LM would have handled it had you mentioned this Friday would have been an interesting situation.

I thought KC was actually one of the better run Ds? Anyway yeah that seems shady. Do they know each other? Was the rest of his team set like that?

im' not looking to "do anything about it" i was just curious if this was in any way not blatant tanking.

and ya they know each other, im the only one who isn't friends with everyone in the league.
they've all been doing the league for years and i'm the newcomer.

and ftr KC is an awful run D n miami is very good vs run so there's no strategic rationale to playing ivory (and its not even like recent performance would make sense since ivory had 5pts last week n CJ had 27).

he didnt bench all his starters as that would be too obv, he did start ertz over fleener, but aside from that there was nothing super fishy as its a real shallow bench so not alot of options.
he did start justin hunter n cordelle patterson with colston, anderson and fleener on the bench.

he had denver and KC defense and he started KC over denver....

That's some bs straight up, if someone pulled that in a league I run they'd get the boot next season for sure and would strongly consider penalties this season as well. I'd mock them for trading their integrity for a chance at a couple hundred bucks.

What they said. If there difference from Team Jeff winning was less than 20, I'd be posting in the league message board and communicating with the Commish to overturn that roster move. At minimum, get an explanation on how the **** you sit CJ Anderson for Ivory.

Even if it didn't matter I would call them out. They don't get to get away with it just because it wasn't necessary.

So in one league I managed to sneak into the playoffs, but need some QB help, as I'm up a pretty good team in the first round.

Right now I'm rolling with Sanchez, (had Foles, Palmer, Mallet) I'm ok with Sanchez most weeks, but he plays Seattle this week, and I don't like the match up. Not a lot available on WW, what do you guys think of Fitz?? He plays the jags twice ROS

I agree with this. Also the fact that you are the new guy and everyone else is friends IRL makes me uncomfortable

An argument can be made for Ertz. He was a thur game and the colts have been slow rolling the allen injury so much. So one could think that it would be possible allen comes back on that sun and fleener is worthless. That being said I have fleener on one of my teams and I was only mildly worried that allen would be active. But I could have dropped someone to replace fleener as opposed to having a locked and undroppable ertz. Still no excuse for ivory over CJ.

INB4 everyone says "doesnt matter you win anyway" (even though I lost last week because dez and marshall did nothing and I had alshon and deandre on my bench for a combined 60 points) and yes I did try my best to trade them pre trade deadline no one was willing to trade.

10 team 50$ auction YPL spent alot on dez/mega/alshon... traded Ronnie hillman straight up for Marshall (LOL) i believe it was when marshall was hurt and hillman had a good game.

edit: just out of curiosity i went back to check how the auction went...so YPL auctions are soft, what I spent;
