suggestion 2 you could do like a final four where 9-12 and 10-11 for the #1 pick loser of the final four chip game would get #2 and then the losers of the 1st game would play for the 3 and 4 pick. 7-8 could play for the 5th and 6th......people playing the 5th 6th place game could play for the 7th and 8th picks
suggestion 3 you could do something like 11v12 for the number #1/2...9v10 for#3/4 and so fourth.
also "There's a trait inherently placed in a man's balls that's makes it hard for him to tank." waterwolves can you tell me you honestly believe that in pro sports teams dont tank at all?
before you tell me this isnt pro sports i know its not, but its the principle and im sorry, but im just getting to know everyone here so im not giving everyone the benefit of the doubt without visiting all other options first.
"bring it up to the commish and we can deal with it then."
sirrawrs why shouldnt we be discussing things like this before it happens instead of putting all the pressure on 1 guy in the league to come up with something fair and logical?
I prefer to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Some of you I've played with before and know to be champs in the context of a redraft league. Also assume that everyone else will behave like champs. But this is a long haul dynasty league.
It would suck if a team purposely tanked but I have never heard of that happening outside of shadier public leagues. I think it's far more likely that a team would appear to be tanking and be falsely accused, causing bad feelings all throughout (based on maybe starting players on bye weeks or injuries because of limited roster spots - players that they fully intend to keep in the future)
Fully agree with what Sterfry says on planning beforehand. Why not make the rules ahead of time for this potential scenario before having to do something knee jerk towards the end of the season.
Am not completely opposed to a toilet bowl tournament that Sterfry suggests, but it sounds like more maintenance on the commissioner to set up and track (yahoo doesn't do that automatically does it?)
Maybe I am oversimplifying but wouldn't it just be easier to look at the potential points from the teams that didn't make the playoffs. Then the one with the lowest potential points gets first pick and so on. The playoff teams are determined by their actual position. This way there's no benefit for tanking unless a team is willing to trash their whole roster.
Thoughts?
