The trading of picks in future rookie drafts is permissible correct?

Personally, I vote no. Illusory contracts/agreements are not valid. For example, let's say a team trades for a future 3rd round pick. If the team trading the pick keeps 18 players, they wouldn't have a 3rd round pick. Plus, I think it would overly complicate things and we should also try and avoid any ted stepien situation.

So how about only being able to trade future 1st rounders?

Then just give the player whatever draft pick that player would have gotten.

Well it's a moot point for now, but I think this is something that needs to be established. If those picks aren't tradeable that's fine, but we need to have a rule agreed upon.

^ agree, but personally I dont like the idea of a team trading off his top old players for draft picks in week 9 because he is 2-7

My vote is to trade 2014 picks now, but not during the season. Also only trade 1 year in advance max.

So for example a rebuilding team could still trade an older guy at next year's draft or this year's draft in exchange for picks, but just not during week 1 through 16.

I agree only one year in advance. Disagree that it can't be mid season.

I would also say allow people to trade and uneven number of draft picks. If somebody has more than 20 players after the draft, make them drop players by a certain date.

I agree with the idea of only trading one year in advance. I am fine with people trading an uneven number of draft picks. If you are short just pick up someone on waivers, if your over just drop players by Sept 4th before the season starts.

I am ok with trading draft pick during the season, but only up until a certain week, like around week 10.

Assuming we are still voting, I change my vote to what the commish just said.

Ya I can get behind that too, week 10 is decent cutoff. I think the cutoff date is a must though.

How do we vote on trades during the year? with yahoo there's a button, how would we vote out collusion or whatever?

I would make the deadline like a week earlier. That way everybody has a chance to claim the dropped players off waivers for w1. If they get dropped the day before, nobody can pick them up till week 2. Just a thought.
