Any chance we can extend the benches a little bit? Maybe add 5-6 benched and lose Ds? Right now we have 10 BN and most re-drafts have 6-7. That's not really much added depth.
If that's the case can't we just do a rookie draft in here?

I like keeping the bench at 10 but I don't mind dropping the Defense so maybe add one more bench spot.

Why do we care if it's via yahoo draft? Aren't we just drafting in threads? Commish sets the rosters after that.

Ugh let's not add 5-6 bench spots. A few maybe, but I don't wanna manage a whole NFL roster for $100. I'm not doing THAT much research for this price point. That's aids.

Pretty much this, I'm happy with the settings that are currently in place, any more changing and I may request refund.

Then why on Earth did you decided to join a dynasty league? In dynasties, you keep EVERYBODY (duh). You should plan on drafting players that don't realistically start for 2-3 years. Again, in a redraft it's not uncommon to have 7 bench spots, and in this dynasty we only have an additional three?

And I'm prepared to do the research on the amount of players we have now. I don't want to add another 80-100 guys to the list. Don't see anyone disagreeing with me yet...

I hope we can find a compromise on this issue. Say 13 total bench spots?

And just to confirm, D/ST fall under the same rules, i.e. if I draft the SEA DEF I own them for good?

I also agree with this. Current settings are fine.

In next year's draft, you can draft rookies as well as any unowned non-rookie players right?

That's my understanding, and probably the reason for the roster locks before the draft. The only part I don't know is how we decide who we toss out and replace. Do we toss guys out pre-draft? Must be?

Nice. Just throw out random numbers to try and make a point. 5 extra bench spots = 60 players. Not really close to 80-100.

Of the 3 others who have added input, one has said no, one offered a compromise of 13, and one said he didn't care... Yeah, everybody is on your side... No wonder you get laughed out of so many SE threads.

You are being kinda mean.

Anyway, I voted no more bench spots. Another guy went so far as to say he may quit if there are 5-6 extra spots. Right now, there are 10 bench spots and 20 total players per team. That's a crazy amount of players already.

Furthermore, adding more bench spots and keeping players who (you admit) will not come to fruition will make it nearly impossible for any team to improve in subsequent drafts.

By the 6 extra spots, there is also less strategy involved for future drafts. With rosters of only 20, you may have to decide whether it is worth it to drop a potentially valuable player to participate in the draft.

Lastly, we all signed up for this league with the current settings in place. It is patently unfair to make material and substantial changes to the settings after guys have already put in $200.

With all of this being said, I will not oppose an attempt to add 2-3 spots.

this^

I have already conceded the int's from -1 to -2, no big deal. But really these things should have been addressed beforehand.

Dude you posted 5-6. 6 would be 72 more, and if some of the positions I rank get drafted heavily or someone is hurt in the time it takes to draft this beast in a thread, my board is going to be deeper than exactly 72 (hence why I mentioned the 80+ figure).

Are you seriously already taking this pool in this direction right now? The main reason nobody is up for 5-6 more spots is because it's a pretty drastic change this close to the draft, you should know that with how many of these you do.

Btw I'm going to ignore your personal attack this once for the sake of the pool. If we've got to be in this together for many years, I'm giving this a chance to not get more ridiculous than it already is...

And if we're voting, like ND I'm also good with the 10 bench spots.

I never demanded anything. I just asked if people would be willing to add more bench spots. Then Rafiki came in and tried to make his point by exaggerating and fabricating stuff. Cool story, bro.

If we could even add 2-3 that would make it better. Or even scrap K/Def and add bench spots in their place.

We could probably start the draft through where people have paid. If the first 4 drafters have paid, they should be able to pick.

I think I am ready to make my pick, would obv like to have the last couple of issues resolved prior to any picks being made.

Still open to trading the #1 pick.

I've got the #10 spot. I'd be open for it depending what you want.

IMO the bench spot thing shouldn't really affect draft picks especially this early even if it gets changed.

Agreed that it doesn't affect these picks, but it's good to work out the small issues. This league has a lot of potential, I hope it doesn't get brought down by minor things like this.

So what are drafting rules? We get 8 hours per pick right? Is that true regardless of the time of day?

What is the penalty if a team goes past the 8 hour mark? Is it a completely forfeited pick for that round or does that team get to draft past the 8 hour mark but it does not prohibit teams (in order) from drafting behind him (like the Vikings situation in 2003)?

Pretty much everything you said is correct though. Don't think time of day matters. With 12 hours you only have to check in twice a day and you'll never miss a pick.

But once the draft starts, no rules, settings, payouts, nothing should be changed.
