Run it like a redraft, except everyone put all players being kept on a do not draft list (I think ESPN has that as part of its custom ranking interface). Then, when a person's pick comes up for which they are keeping a player, just draft that player. For example, if Player x keeps AP for a first, no one else has the right to draft AP at any point, but Player x must take AP when his first selection comes up.

There will still be screw-ups, but an in-thread draft seems like it would be a mess with people taking too long, accidentally picking kept players anyway, and accidentally double picking players.

Right, obv. I'm a moron.

Agreed that this is the better solution, doing the draft here will take forever. Any mistakes in the draft can be corrected with trades/drops.

I know a lot of people aren't a fan yahoo for some reason, but their fantasy set up works very well for keeper league from my experience.

I like the espn interface rather than yahoo but if causes issues it's probably worth swapping. However I'm in favour for lyco solution.

The yahoo interface sucks, IMO. If we want to draft on yahoo I would much rather draft on yahoo then input the teams on ESPN, if possible.

yeah i want to keep using espn but keeper option doesnt allow me customize to draft pick...

i think we'll just post keepers in thread and make sure everyone picks specific player where theyre supposed to (also people will have to make sure they dont pick other peoples keepers)...

even if a mistake happens i should be able to pause draft and fix mistake...

still waiting to hear back from last player (fandemsquash)

i want to give him a few days since its still early but mapof you can have spot if he doesn't show...

I don't think you can pause the draft and delete the pick or anything like that.

When a screw up occurred in my draft last year I would pause the draft & the person who screwed up (aka- villain 1) would have to type into the chat box that he actually wanted to draft some other player and then everyone would have to remember not to draft said player. Then whoevers keeper V1 drafted would have to draft the player V1 said he wanted to draft in the chat box in the round his keeper was suppose to be kept.

Did you make it 90sec instead of 120sec for draft time to pick? I think 120sec is necessary, especially now that we have to be aware of keeper picks. This draft will go faster anyway, considering we already have 36 picks or 3 rounds done.

Ours was 90 secs, but I do wonder if it would have gone quicker if we had 120 secs. Only reason it was even close is because like I said we had quite a few people screw up and draft someone elses keeper. If one person doesn't drop every keeper down their list of players to draft and they time out the computer is going to auto-draft someone's keeper.

pretty sure you pause draft and reverse picks but could be wrong

complete list

1. wave
2. DDIP
3. Dan
4. eblah
5. Spring
6. shhball
7. gs
8. lyco
9.bah
10.kaka
11 Donk
12 fandemsq

OK, so i did a mock draft as a manager and i can pause and delete picks so we will use espn for draft but will manually select our own keepers (AND NOT SELECT OTHERS)

1. i have draft set for August 19th at 8:30 EST, if that doesn't work let me know, we could go earlier draft like last year, people will have to be somewhat flexible

2. Draft selection order:

1. wave
2. arians hippy commune (springer)
3. pit of despair
4. back to ballin (open team)
5. bahbah mickey (bahbah)
6. DontDoItPlease (DDIP)
7. Buried by Wounded knee (Dan)
8. Safety Dance
9. team Stam
10. Jersey leshoure (Donk)
11. You Soy Fiesta (Fandemsq)
12. No Clavicles Needed (open team)

3. new players, i did a draw for the two players at random.org:

There were 2 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

kaka
gsgs

Timestamp: 2013-07-13 19:11:00 UTC

This means Kaka has first pick of open teams (No Clavicles or Back to ballin)

4. Keepers and Draft

I am going to ask that we do draft selection and keeper selection in thread at same time (since one effects the other).

I am thinking a couple days before actual draft.

We will have to manually select our keepers in the appropriate rounds and NOT SELECT OTHER PEOPLES KEEPERS

I will have ability to veto selections in live draft so screwups arent that big a deal but still, everyone will to have to post keepers here and watch the list during the draft...

5. Payment

I'll send pm with instructions, READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

6. payouts

same as last year

650-1st
350-2nd
200-third
50-highest regular season point getter

I can't do the 19th, going to be gone from the 16th--25th. Can the draft be done the week before? When was it done last year?

What is the rule again if we keep 2 guys from the same round? Say for example I keep 2 FAs or whatever, do I lose my 8th and 9th, or 8th and 7th?

are you absoluetly unavailable those dates? i would be fine doing it earlier if everyone agrees, otherwise we'd have to do it after 25th i guess

you'd lose 8 and 9 for two FA... so round picked and the one after is what we agreed to

I assume this rule can also be applied to 3 players that should be picked in the same round too. So if I keep 3 FAs I will be keeping them in the 8th, 9th, and 10th rounds, correct?

yeah it would just keep moving down, so if you somehow ended up through trades with three 1st rounders you lose your first three picks
