Just spit-balling here, what do you guys think of this idea for next year:
Since there's a 13 week fantasy regular season and 12 teams, that means that you're going to play two teams twice (and every other team once). I assume the 2017 schedule was just generated randomly by Yahoo, but what about for 2018 we do this:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place (reg season standings) each play each other twice next year;
4th, 5th, and 6th place each play each other twice next year;
7th, 8th, and 9th place each play each other twice next year;
10th, 11th, and 12th place each play each other twice next year.
Basically this would (maybe/hopefully) shift slightly toward parity, much like the NFL conference games during the regular season (e.g. last year the Eagles finished 4th in their division, so this year they play the 4th place teams from two other NFC divisions). Of course, suppose a lower placed team is hoarding a lot of rookie picks or IR players (DJ and Godgers come to mind); he could conceivably be the favorite for the following year.
Not a big deal either way imo, but figured I'd throw it out there.
