I think the point of a co owner is so if one can't be at the draft the other fills in

fwiw i dont like alot of bench spots, it just leads to hoarding of young players

in this kind of no salary system just straight keep everyone format alot of teams might not want to reupp for next year if they feel that they drafted too poorly and it might take many years to be competitive.

i think a keeper type system might be better/more interesting(with alot of bench spots), where you have say ~20 keepers that you have to allocate however you decide over all 3 sports. ideally this would be done in early september (last month of baseball season, football about to start, basketball a month away)

I really hate the idea of making this into a keeper league, which is pretty much what your suggesting. The entire point of a dynasty league is to have the right balance of older players who can produce well for you now and young players who will be building blocks of your team for the future. The strategy of that is exactly why I love the dynasty format and doing keepers instead like your suggesting takes that away completely. And it's not like people are going to be completely screwed if they draft predominately older players, there will be rookie drafts for every sport. Which is also why we need larger benches to have enough space to be able to take in a few rookies every year.

agree 100% with this. i really hope this stays a dynasty league as that was one of the big attractions for me.

i also think we should draft fewer than the total # of roster spots. that way i can trade mike trout for 20 draft picks.

I vote H2H for all (ppr in football, no playoffs in baseball or basketball)

I updated the spreadsheet to add in loose and Othello who didn't really care what we did. It looks like H2H for everything is what the majority wants.

Looks like stopped raining men is the only one who hasn't voted. I say we have a deadline for this, then replace him if he doesn't vote. We need to get things rolling.

I also say that dues for all 3 sports should be paid up front yearly.

For the voting, it might not matter anyway. Looks like H2H won all the sports (if you take out the people not voting on purpose)..

For payment. I would also say it should all be paid up front. I would also say if you want to trade a future pick, you have to pay $50 toward the next year so we dont have people going for win now mode and then leaving

For the draft.. I think a hybrid might work. We all try and pick a couple days over the next 6 weeks or so that we can get one person from each team togther in a chat room for about 2 hours or so. We will start the draft asap in thread. When those times come up, we pick as many rounds as we can in chat room. After that back to thread. And then finish out in a final chat room draft if we need. In thread would have like a 12 hour clock (with nighttime not counting) for skipping though to try and avoid anyone being skipped.

i'm saying with a larger number of bench spots, i'd want some kind of mechanism which would ensure some roster turnover because pretty much every player of any significance will be owned. i think its ok with the default amount of roster spots. i dont see why you cant have young players with less roster spots? that just adds to the strategy of cost/future benefit on rostering young players.

for example in baseball, if we roll with 30 man rosters + minor league spots, its going to play more like a 16 team league in terms of players owned, which is crazy deep and will play like an AL or NL only league.

In regards to minors, baseball I think needs minor leaguers.. Not a ton. Maybe 5-7. And that would be a different draft than this. The main draft would not include any minor leaguers (or guys who havent been ROY eligible) in baseball, or any college kids in football or basketball. Before each season we would just have a small rookie draft to cover them..

We also need roster size votes. I would vote on # of roster spots over the default. Say 0,2,4,6. This would be per sport..

Last thing is probably type of draft and waivers. Draft would be if we use the 3 round reversal or anything different. And waivers would be if we used normal rolling waivers

I think we NEED to do 3rr. The top of this draft is extremely top heavy and will give the owners who have the picks at the top of the draft a ridiculously big advantage over everyone else if we just do normal snake.

No, there are different ways of doing it. None of them are as good as h2h roto tho imo.

Yea, I think it needs to stay a dynasty.. We dont have to go crazy with benches, but with rookie drafts and being able to trade from other sports, you should be able to obtain almost any player you want. Since you arent just stuck with 1 lineup and have to rely on waivers or a draft to fix it, you should be able to move resources from other sports to fix a sport
