i think there should be some sort of fine (FAAB) at minimum, because even if you dont play the extra player, you were holding on to them. it's just not that big a deal with weekly adds, so if i hold someone for a few extra days and never play them, it doesnt have any real tangible effect, other than keeping someone off FA for a few days. however, what it does is allow you to pick from 32 players rather than 31 for a couple days, which isnt right

what weve never done is had a hard deadline about when drops need to be in. it's always pretty soft for tuesday/wednesday. and sometimes people (im sure ive done it too) angle shoot this and have 32 players and then trade a player rather than cutting them, before the "deadline" which doesnt exist.

I'm ok with 0-10 to set a precedent so people don't angle shoot this issue. Or a faab fine. let try and rap this issue quickly so we can trade again .

i think a time table for dropping a player is great idea and 24 hour time limit seems fair faab fine that increases everytime it occurs.

I would say FAAB fine for first offense. 0-10 for next. Loss of overall point for 3rd

But there should be a hard 24 hour rule, so Tuesday by 11am est to get in cuts and anything after that whoever the last person picked up is cut.

what would consistute an offense? When is the cut off for cuts? People have busy lives so I would say before Monday midnight pacific time or something would be reasonable, as long as you didn't play the newly added player. if you did play the newly added player you would have to have cut someone already

20 faab then lose the week seems fine to me.

How about this:

At Tuesday by 11am EST if you have 32 players, for a first offense, you get fined 20 faab and the last players picked up is cut. If you played the player on Monday, you lose 50 FAAB and if that player helps you win any cats, they dont count

For 2nd offenses, you lose 50 FAAB (100 if played)

3rd Offense, 3rd round pick

That work?

Thats the important part imo.

You cant just have a FAAB fine and the player stats counting, because then we could have someone just throwing 20 FAAB one week to get an extra start. If you do not remove the stats from the last player added, the whole thing is possible to take advantage of.

not always easy to figure out who the extra rostered player is imo. it's messy. i'm down for something like a 20 fine first time, 100 second time, 3 loss final standings addition penalty third time. that way we really don't hurt anybody else in the grand scheme by giving someone a 10-0.

Yea, not a fan of 10-0. First I cant do it in the system. 2nd if other team is contender it could have a much larger impact than intended

I guess in addendum we could let the offended player in the situation pick one player from the opponent's roster to not count for that week. that seems pretty fair. Player still uses 31 but the opponent gets to exclude the player of his choice from the 32.

im not against your penalty ideas, but you can just look at the FAAB report and go by who was added last. ESPN goes in the order you put priority, so just go by who was added last.

This seems to be a minor issue IMO. It's an easy mistake to make. I do not support 0-10 though. That's extreme. Not sure on the specifics but it would seem natural to simply exclude the stats from a player(s). I will support the majority to ensure a quick resolution.

It is minor but could be a big swing for me depending on what we decide, because Koehler was his latest add and his 32nd guy.

As of now he is the deciding factor for ERA and will most likely swing the matchup in his favor in Ks and improve his whip. So that will possibly force me to call somebody up for a sunday start from my AAA. So its pretty important for me to know what we will do so I can make my roster decisions. So if we could decide on something before sunday that would be awesome for me.

OK i see your point on 10-0 being unbalanced. Better make it an asset-based punishment. 2nd punishment $50 FAAB third punishment draft pick of some sort?

I personally like (move all stats from that player) in the following order.

1. $20 faab

2. $50 Faab

3. 0-10

4. Lose 3 rounder

5. Banish to other side of the wall.

you could potential angle the 0-10 as a tanking team as well. i'd prefer to see all the punishments being asset-based not performance-based

Just to point out. I can't (or at least couldn't figure out how to) change a matchup to 0-10. I am not in favor of it to begin with because it could have a big impact on other teams but also because of the fact it would have to be outside of site, which is confusing

0-10 is beyond terrible

While this is mostly a democracy, I am pretty much gonna veto that being an option. So many negatives and potential issues

I think we keep it at FAAB, then picks, then overall points if we need another step

Also. Other sites have N/A slots for minors. So hopefully this won't be an issue for long
