Haha. I guess with this year not counting, if Howard lands somewhere else next year and doesnt play like a bitch and puts some Orlando numbers up again, it could be a good pick.. Or if we vote to add % of sand in vagina (SIV) as a cat, again, it could be a steal
- its the same for all three sports?
- have to be rookies by the sport's standards
- can be called up but not called down
- is there a limit to rookie spots?
Pretty much..
- same 5 slots for all 3 sports
- Yes, rookie by sports standards. So basically not ROY eligible in baseball. Drafted in football or basketball.
- Correct, you can stash guys there. But once they are called up they must stay uo
- 5 slots per sport. You can have less if you want obv
Filling 5 slots in football and basketball might be hard this year btw. But once you have a couple guys stashed those last couple spots will be helpful
Is there a limitation to stashing? Do you have to call player up after the season after which they lose ROY eligibility in baseball, or after rookie season in the other two?
Can keep them till you call them up imo. The minors are pretty small and benches are pretty deep, so we wont have to many guys kept a super long time..
Yes, you can draft a guys and keep him there for 2, 3 or whatever years.. Just means you will have 1 less minor league spot to fill in draft for those years.. And yea, if you didnt take em in a rookie draft, they cant go there. Just makes it easier
Each sport. That is the way itll work in the future anyway. Plus we dont know right now where nfl players are going and who is declaring in nba. So before baseball season we will do a minor draft. Same for football and basketball.
Yea, think it will work well. Lets you keep a nice deep bench that you can play, but also keep some guys that might not be ready yet, but you dont wanna give up on..
MLB Player X was called up in September, started a few games, mostly rode the bench. He was obv not eligible for ROY. he may or may not make an opening day roster in 2013. He will more than likely play in high double A.
When can this player be drafted? In the overall draft or only the rookie draft, or both?
