I don’t know anything about this league... I need to know draft process/day but I’m in if it works.

Where should I go to read about all league settings?

I think I get it. Wow. How does a dude assemble an entire roster of no one I would want to keep?

Whoever has Mondesi... I’ll probably trade anyone I have for him.

6x6 H2H with FAAB continuous waivers. Daily lineups.
5 keepers max, at least 1 must be a hitter and 1 must be a pitcher.
Keeper cost is based on where the player was drafted. If you drafted the guy in rd16 last year, you can keep him as your 16th rd pick this year, with the round increasing each successive year. A player can be kept a max of 5 years before he must be thrown back into the draft.

(It says offline draft, but that just the default setting. it is actually ONLINE snake)

Keeper rules:
5 keepers kept, at least 1 hitter and 1 pitcher
Keeper cost: The 1st year a player is kept they cost the round they were drafted in.
2nd year: +1 round earlier
3rd year: +3 rounds earlier
4th year: +6 rounds earlier
5th year: +10 rounds earlier
If you do not have the draft pick to keep that player, you may keep that player for +1 earlier round. If you do not have the earlier draft pick, it takes the next earliest round. For example, John Doe is a 6th rder, but you traded your 6th and 5th pick, John Doe costs you a 4th rder.
You may keep a MAX of 2 players per round.

If you trade for a player, his keeper cost is the round he was drafted in.
If you pick up a player from FA who was drafted, his keeper cost is the round he was drafted in.
If you pick up a player from FA who was NOT drafted, his keeper cost is the last drafting round.
A max of 3 FA's who were not drafted may be kept per year.
Keepers can be kept for a max of 5 years

They're listed by the round they were kept in last year, and how many years they've been kept.

So if you're going to keep them going into this season, go up 1

IE -- Bryant is 10th rd and was 4th year, so into his 5th year would be +10 rounds meaning he'd be a 1st.

You need the DP of the round to keep someone, and if you have multiple of those DPs then you can use both.

If you don't have that DP and want to keep someone, you can opt to lose the round earlier. So if someone costs a 10th, but you don't have it, you can opt for them to cost you a 9th. And then that's how they're counted the following year.

We're finally in the 5th year so a lot of guys are getting that +10. We finally got here! Finally getting to the steep keeper costs, and the last year that guys can be kept. Should be a lot of interesting keepers, resetting some parity, in theory

I think this should cover it for the most part. His keepers from last year were pretty meh.

But should be some good guys thrown back in the draft this year cause it's the 5th year.

Either way, if you PM me your email, I'll get you set up

Welcome!

Maybe just give last place the last pick?
Or at least don't give last place the #1 over all pick... maybe give 7th place (highest non-playoff team) the #1 pick,
8th place #2
9th place #3
10th place #4
11th place #5
12th place #6
And then reverse order of standing for playoff teams like we already do, so 1st place still picks at the end
And wanna just bump this for folks. I'm all for it starting next year, since most folks check out once we get to the consolation bracket (or didn't last year)

I think I need more clarification.

I’ll continue to use Mondesi as my example.

I just traded my 8th round pick for Mondesi and it looks like he was picked up in free agency so how does that work... this year he costs me an 8th round pick (because I traded it) and next year he costs me a 26th round pick?

I’m a bit confused when it says Felix Hernandez 9th round, 1st year keeping. So if I wanted to keep Felix (LOL) heading into 2019 he would cost my 8th round pick as a second year keeper?
MLB Fantasy Baseball Keeper Quote
02-19-2019 , 03:24 AM
Mondesi will be your 26th round pick this year. The Yahoo software automatically slots all keepers into the proper round when the draft begins (as set up by the commish beforehand).
NDFan will get your 8th round pick.

fwiw NDFan also has to send you a pick back (last round or whatever) because the Yahoo software forces every team to have exactly the same number of draft picks.

Ah. Okay. That’s what I was confused about.
MLB Fantasy Baseball Keeper Quote
02-19-2019 , 08:30 AM
^ is correct. and if you kept mondesi the following season, he would be your pick in the 25th round.

and basically if a trade happens and there isn't a stated "balance" DP, then ill give you the latest rd DP he has. if you've traded your 26th, I just move up to 25th, etc.

the system has to have everyone at an equal number of DPs before drafting can start

You can only keep a player at a round you own the pick for.
