A new season is upon us. 45 days until real, meaningful football will be played. Say it with me...Lettuce football!!!!!!!!!!

Will we get answers to these unknowns?
  • LeVeon Bell with the Jets.
  • Antonio Brown with the Raiders.
  • Todd Gurley's knee.
  • Melvin Gordon's contract negotiation.
  • Tyreek Hill's "situation". Will more info come out?
  • Will Kyler Murray be worth getting rid of Josh Rosen?
  • Will Tom Brady's arm fall off at age 42?
  • How many times will Jameis get benched with Fitzmagic in Miami?
  • Will the guys who missed last season come back healthy?
  • Will the Seahawks be more run-heavy than Ravens?
  • Will Wolves return?
  • Will Gronk return?
  • Which will be more? TV Shots of Pete Carroll chewing a wad of gum or Jason Garrett clapping?

Who will be the best bounce back candidate?
  • David Johnson
  • Leonard Fournette
  • Kenyan Drake
  • Someone else I'm forgetting

Which offenses will continue to be juggernauts? Which ones are on the rise? Which offenses are going to fall off a cliff?

Also, why don't you like Kittle? Do you put guys like Howard, Henry, Engram, etc. above him?

I do think Henry will out perform his ADP.

I understand Lindsay and Ridley at their projected ADPs.

I like Howard a ton (did last year, too), but his ADP is too high. I think Henry is as good with a lower draft cost.

Saw a neat thing about Mixon vs Le'Veon in PPR. Nice debate actually. They lean heavily towards Mixon.

I like the bet on who comes back first:

Gronk
Wolves

I think it's Wolves

only avoiding Lindsay on this list - I like the other 3; been drafting Kittle/Tyreek a ton in best ball (less Tyreek now bc his ADP obviously exploded but I still like him in the wr 5-7 range, was drafting him as much as possible in round 4 before suspension news broke)

Reasons for avoiding:
Tyreek because I don't think he is done with legal trouble

Kittle because he is going way too high and his success was without Jimmy G. We've had many 1 season breakouts at TEs that never reproduce that high, but I guess nobody as young as he is. He averaged 4 for 64 in 3 games with Garoppolo last year (I know sample size). I don't put any of the other TEs ahead of him.

Lindsay faded near the end of the season and wasn't a big part of the passing game as I think people assume he was.

Ridley because his TD rate was probably the second most unsustainable of last year behind Ebron. Granted it helps when you play opposite Julio because he doesn't like scoring TDs.

Is it bad to take Kelce as number 1 pick in a draft? He won't still be there at pick 24.

Yes, that would be bad. I understand the desire to get Kelce, but you're "unlucky" from that aspect by getting the 1st pick. You have to take one of Zeke, Kamara, CMC, or Barkley. Whoever you like the most.

You might still be able to get Kittle or Ertz at 24/25. That would be much better than Kelce at 1.

I agree on the Mixon lean. Not sure I agree on the Wolves lean

I have been very aggressive on drafting Kelce (I've taken him 6th overall pretty frequently) but I'm never taking him over the top 5 RBs.

Getting your pick of the top RB then go Kittle or Ertz end of rd 2 like tarheels said.

10-team keeper league (0.5PPR)
We keep 2 (Saquon in the 1st is set).
QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, Flex, D, K

Since the Mixon talk is heating up. Are we keeping Mixon in the mid-3rd or Thielen in the mid-11th?

I have a lean, but I feel it's close.

I think in 3WR it's probably not that close. Has to be Thielen. Last I saw his ADP was like end of the 2nd start of the 3rd!

Definitely agree on Thielen since you're giving up an 11th. However, I am concerned we see more of 2nd half of the season Thielen than we see of 1st half of the season Thielen. Hi ADP of end of 2nd/beginning of 3rd is too high, IMO.

Mixon for 3rd is solid value, but Thielen at 11, especially in a 3 WR league, has to be better value.

Thielen - 11th is too much value.

Fading Ridley seems obv. He low key kinda sucks and is already overrated because of how high he was drafted, plus as mentioned his efficiency is extremely likely to regress. He's one of those guys where people bake in improvement into their projections since they view him as a young blue chip prospect coming off a good rookie year, but given his advanced stats and the fact that he isn't actually young (he was a 24 year old rookie), I'm not going anywhere near him at ADP.

Also, of the top 3 TE's, I think I'm fading Ertz. He barely averaged 10 yards per catch with a ****ton of targets last year (40+ more than his previous career high). Philly is pretty stacked so I would bet on his targets almost certainly decreasing, perhaps by a bunch, which seems very likely to leave you disappointed if you expected Kelce/Kittle level production.

Lindsay is an interesting one. I have no real clue what to make of him. Eyetest was off the charts last year of course, but there has been a bunch of mixed stuff I've heard about his usage going into this year. He has been injured and has a new coaching staff with no attachment to him, and that supposedly has been very impressed with Royce Freeman thus far. But I also read some stuff the other day about them featuring him more as a receiver and splitting him out wide a bunch, and he was quite good as a receiver in college. However his QB is also Joe Flacco, and fading a Joe Flacco led offense is a tried and true strat.

Pick 5 in my standard league. Nuk come on down.

Have Kittle for a 16th and Mahomes for a 12th in the designated keeper league so I look forward to winning that too.

From doing a few mocks with no real research, it seems like not getting a RB in the 1st 2 rounds is an issue. Seems to be lots of good rb's in the first 2 rounds but then s decent drop off.
Who are the Rd 7-10 TE's to target? McDonald seems to be quite popular but if he shows at all in preseason I think he'll become too expensive for what he is.
Olsen going almost undrafted. Leaning cook if he's there and possibly taking Reed if I totally punt the position

Rudolph and Walker seem totally fine as late round TEs.
