he's j.a. happ, he sucks, he doesnt strike anybody out, its a great rhb park, so i dont wanna throw a bad pitch-to-contact lefty there. im not impressed at all by the start hes had because his walk/lob/hr rates arent sustainable for him. nothing to see here, move along. gotta be many better plays for cash games.

also cosart is only 100 more on fd and the marlins are -180 in an u8 -113 game. id much rather roll the dice on him.
happ is real bad for cash with far superior salary eating pitchers available. In GPP I wouldn't overload my rosters with him but he is up vs. a very boom or bust offense (way better vs lefties though), and if he keeps the ball in the park and the Astros power generating bats miss a lot he could 2x his salary like he did the last time he faced Houston.

edit: I'd probably take cosart over him so far after 4 IP

What's good score for baseball? 2x?

Or is it different for pitching and hitting?

overall 1x (35 pts) is pretty good for cash but when there's a ton of overlap all bets are off.

I think I have every HR today. If only my pitcher didn't suck.

He does strike people out though and he's not that bad.

80th overall in k/9 and 75th overall in k%. never been worth more than 1.8 fwar in any season. steamer and zips both have him at 4.07 fip and thats factoring in his good start. so maybe a little hyperbolic to say he sucks, but hes certainly not good.

he has had a great start to the season to be sure but like i said earlier that seems to be fueled by a lot of unsustainable metrics. unless you have reason to believe hes somehow reinvented himself at age 32 or something. which ofc we cant totally rule out but seems pretty unlikely.

Honestly I have no clue what his numbers are so far this season. Like I said I kind of ignore them. However he's been pretty consistently around a 7.5ish k/9 guy which is solid. I'm not saying he's in the Harvey/Kershaw type group but he's someone that with a solid matchup can be expected to strikeout a decent amount of hitters. He's not like one of these sinkerballers who strike nobody out He'll definitely give up some runs since he's that good or anything but he's also not a disaster. I think he's usable on a day where there aren't many great pitching options. All else equal I'd definitely use him over Cosart. Cosarts in the near useless class with that k rate. Had I played today I would have almost certainly used Shields but I didn't really look into it much since I wasn't going to be home.

Happ was an implosion for me today, but that's ok cause outside of Norris I had no batter do better then 3.5 points. I'd rather get the bad offense out of the way on a night my pitcher was waxed.

26.25 is what my lineup did tonight. It wont cash any of my 50/50's.

Curious do you guys like submitting multiple lineups, or one lineup that you project as the best overall. I hear a lot of people talking about shares of this guy and shares of that guy. Still kind of trying to figure out what there talking about exactly.

So paying for the "safest" pitcher not working out thus far this year..

You know what.. At some point I thought LOL cash games, you can't beat those. But now I feel the same with GPPs. Sigh, this ain't that easy but at the same time it really is!! I'm
So confused :-/.

that feeling you're experiencing is probably massive variance

There's a ton of variance, but these 50/50's are certainly beatable. Most nights I play a top end pitcher I do well. So I'm not too sure about the safest comment above.

I'd prefer the Sunday night game was excluded from the main Sunday slates.

I don't think that is a good idea because recs target this particular type of game and no shot it's happening since it will usually be pretty big market teams playing.

damn. my twins/a's stack put up 170 in the dk moonshot. If I only I didn't pair it with cueto/cosart, which meant I had the maximum to spend on pitchers and botched it. Had final table equity...
