If you understand the stats as well as you say and are at least competent at NFL DFS (meaning you do somewhat understand roster construction) I don't think you need a lot more (services, etc). Most of the stuff out there is basic and vanilla, mostly useless to anyone with a clue.

"I've played season-long rotisserie for many years, but I don't see how that translates."

I was +EV from the start at MLB DFS mostly due to experience in the national challenge games. Not exactly like stomping nitwits in local or ESPN leagues, but my point is it does translate. My guess is if you've got the patience and aren't a sick gambler you've probably got all the tools it takes to win right now, you just need some experience. My process is a constant work in progress, little adjustments all the time. oh and the variance can melt your ****ing face off, but if you're any good it always seems to turn. That's more of a warning not to get too high or low. Also, it helps me NOT to sweat it. I make my plays and move on to working on the next days slate, trying not to check results/box scores until the games are over.

Also, when I decided to get into this a few days prior to OD 2014 I wanted to read everything I could find, well there isn't much out there but I did read the 2013 MLB DFS 2p2 thread. Not a ton of content but it gave me a little better understanding. I'd recommend at least skimming this thread and maybe the 2014 thread as well. I mean it's mostly noise but I bet you pick up a better idea of how it all works and maybe even a tiny bit of strat.

I'm not sure there's an easy answer to what you're looking for. Personally, I've only played one baseball season on DK. But I think generally, if you've determined what site(s) you're playing, look at scoring systems. Can't speak to the other sites, but DK seems to overvalue HRs and SBs IMO. So I'm always looking for value players who can do one or the other. Strikeouts seem overvalued for pitchers...so I'm looking for guys who can get K's.

In the playoffs last season, I started doing very well with two game slates. I hadn't really cared to play them prior to that. But now I'm going to play more late slates to see if I may do better on a shorter schedule. That's something to consider as well.

I like doing my own research...so I don't look too hard at DFS forums (other than this one) and I rarely expect to get much from them.

Basically, I'm just trying to look at pitchers who are apt to get hit hard and draft opposing batters. The stats are there for all to see. If you can work out a program that weighs all the factors (and there's a shipload), more power to you. I'm just trying to put together logical lineups that I can justify to myself. As of now, I think I'm just slightly better than average. In other words, I'm not beating the rake. So I keep trying. Its been fun, cheap and challenging. Good luck to you.
