I don;t know how much this helps you guys but the general gist is that everyone is keepable if the team wants them, but the players salary goes up each year(except for rookies) Also there's a rookie draft every year, etc.

I feel like a salary league might be a bitch to commish though, lots of work. Would be awesome to have one though

There are lots of leagues that are similar to what we're trying to do, but they do seem complicated, and having someone that has run one before would be a huge help.

i feel like most of the actual work is just setting the league up. Once it gets moving it shouldn't be too hard to maintain. we really have to settle on what rules we want to use though.

We could have an inaugural auction type draft to fill out the active rosters, and then a standard type minor league draft. Then when we move players from minor league roster to active, we have them for 3 years cost controlled followed by a couple years of pay raises (fixed? dynamic based on WAR?) till they're put back into the yearly auction? kinda copying MLB's rules/free agency. There could be something for churning up the minor leagues too, maybe keep 10 of 15 or something like that.

I really like some of the ideas in the BCN page that exitonly found. They are ridiculously thorough, but unfortunately it's going to take more time than I have tonight to read through it and dig out the key points. I'll also finish reading Thay3r's link. I'm still having trouble finding other dynasty formats, maybe I should just start looking at keeper league rules instead (this 2p2 thread actually showed up in the top ten for one of my searches, thanks internet!). Gah, too much ****.

Sorry this is taking so long to get launched guys, but it is quite difficult to put it all together. This is why I started kicking things off now in January, rather than March. Please stick with it. This will be so much fun once we figure it out.

Also we need an escrow. If it comes down to it, I can do it (and I assume no one would have problems with that... if so please PM me and we can talk about it), but I would much rather have someone outside the league escrow. Any ideas?

I'd like it to be someone outside the league, if possible. I've seen too many $$ bickering issues with fantasy leagues involving IRL friends, much less internet people.

1) irl people are way stupider about money issues in my experience

2) thayer's a really well known poker player who i doubt is going anywhere anytime soon. i'm not sure what "outside the league" has to do with anything -- what's he gonna do, hold the money and just say "**** it i'm not paying" if a conflict arises? lol

Not sure if this has been decided but I'd like to do a draft thread on 2p2 to pick teams. My second choice would be to do an auction.

That could be fun.

We could do both. The auction would put 10 players up for bid each day, and you would submit a silent bid on each player. It could be a one or two round auction. Lots of game theory comes into play there. It's the only way I could see us doing an auction. Getting 12 people scattered about the internet to all show up at the same time online for a draft seems next to impossible.

what do you mean by "one or two round auction"?

Put up all the players' names. Everyone makes a bid. The highest bid on each player is revealed (just the $$ amount, not the team that made it). There is another round of silent bidding where you may either outbid on each player or choose not to bid on them.
