I think i'd prefer 12 teams, but w/ 40(?) man rosters maybe not.
how are we working the draft? Set a salary cap and have an auction? Just a normal draft w/ salary values attached to rounds?
we could have the buyin for the league be your teams salary, i.e. $100MM Cap, if you spend 70MM you pay $70. I think this is how the 2+2NBA dynasty runs. is that workable for baseball? that sounds kinda cool. we could tweak is so that the average person is in $100 to keep the dollar amounts the same.
Have we decided on a site? do sites even have leagues starting yet? i looked on espn but didn't see anything for 2010.
Just do a straight up draft w/o salaries imo, with like 25 man active, plus 35-40man roster for minors/bench etc.
Dont really care about amount of teams, id would be freakin awesome if we could have 15-20 teams, since extra rosters for minors players, it could work.
I have no clue what site/league supports this though...
And the rosters just completely carry over from year to year? i think we need some sort of structure like contracts expiring/changing salaries or a draft or something each year. otherwise the only players moving teams would be trades and i guess waiver wire pickups. that could seriously screw over the bottom of the barrel teams w/ rebuilding. the mlb draft doesn't really work because none of those players should make our 40 mans, and it's right in the middle of the season.

Welcome to the life of 29 other teams in the majors that aren't the Yankees lol
But, i'm not certain if salary would be better or worse for this.
I was on the list above and got a PM from Karak or whatever, and I'm fine with any type of league and any reasonable (under $150 or so) buy-in. However, I have little to no poker money these days b/c I'm not playing online anymore and I'd need to write a check/money order to the commish. If that's an issue, just x me out and give yourselves a chance to win the league.
Oh sure, wait until I actually have work to do to ask me for help.
Basically we have to discuss what the setup is going to be and come to a consensus on it. I'll throw up a list of stuff that's been decided/tbd tonight (hopefully), but it's up to the other owners to move the discussion. I'll try and come up with a general proposal from what's been said and some format stuff, plus whatever format research another_rack comes back with.
Actually, first thing we need to do is confirm who is participating. 12 teams, $100 buy-in, here's who is confirmed as in:
There are only two spots left as it stands right now. CO-OWNERS, please get your bidness sorted out asap and post any necessary changes to the list (and don't feel obligated to go solo just to fill out a spot, we may have a surplus of interest at the moment). If you're not on this list, but want to be, please add your name to the list and re-post it.
