Nothing against the spirit of returning the money under C, but I'd argue the money is not nearly as valuable in September as it was in June or even early August when the team invested in a player they would presumably get to keep beyond this year.

On a related note, I feel very strongly that any owner who picked up an injured player who has not played since they were picked up by that team should be refunded. Those players contributed zero value this season and were obviously picked up solely for 2015.

A more thorough search would be necessary, but a quick scan shows C.C. Sabathia, Matt Cain, Joel Hanrahan, Carlos Gonzalez, and Prince Fielder would fall into that category.

Yeah, want me to do the legwork on this one? I may have time later this afternoon. Deliverable is all players picked up during the 2014 season who had been rostered going into the 2014 season. Those are the guys who get thrown back into the pool in the off-season. I'll post amounts paid for those pickups as well.

Basically. Though I've discovered it's just a touch more complicated than that, since a player could have been a FA going into the season, gets added, then dropped, then added again. Obviously that guy is eligible to be kept. So I'm looking for guys who were added with a previous drop, and that drop doesn't have a preceding add. Added players who entered the player pool as drops, I suppose is the way to put it.

Yeah, thanks, it's easy though. There's also a record of all 390 players drafted onto teams to begin the season, so I can work with that too.

Okay, below is the list of players currently on an active roster who were also on an active roster to begin the season. These are the guys who will be dropped at the end of the season in accordance with the new rule.

I'd spot check your guys, which isn't too hard since there are only 7 teams represented here. For the record, there are 26 players covered under the new rule, of whom I own 8 (!), Rack owns 5, Alekhine, Fifield, Pecota, and Banhammer each own 3, and Thay3r owns 1.

The guys who were added when injured and have yet to play a game for their current team are CarGo, Cain, Fielder, and Victorino.

Karak's lineup is such a sad pile of disappointment.

It's funny to me that he's had Beltre on the bench. I inquired about trading for him and seemed to have little interest, which could have been draft picks or young players. Now next years roster will be without Beltre or the hypothetical young players or picks. That would annoy me if I was taking that team over.

Shouldn't Garritt Richards be on this list?
