Waiting on Karak, Pecota, Fifield and Levarkin. Fifield joined the mistake auction so I assume he'll be in by tomorrow. Same w/ Karak and Pecota. Levarkin has been MIA on 2p2 for a few days, but I emailed him to try and get his attention.

So yea I think it's reasonable that this starts tomorrow. As soon as it's full you should be able to begin nominating/bidding on players.

Did we ever come to a final decision on how the in-season drops will be handled from a cap perspective? We should finalize this stuff before auctioning gets underway.

Also, for the purposes of the service clock, the first year in which the rookie finishes the season on the 30-man roster is year 1 of his service clock - correct?

Also, we cannot add/drop minor leaguers correct? I don't remember if this was answered.

This may seem like an odd request, but if someone is interested in talking a little bit of strategy over aim give me a shout.

I'm running out to a ball game right now, but I'll be back and online from about 11:00 est or so for a few hours.

I have some stratifies and ideas I'd like to bounce off someone.

AIM is brij397.

We did not. The only thing holding us back from making a decision on this is seeing how CBS can handles the contracts. I agree we should settle it before we draft so we can have an idea of what to leave room for.

If anyone has run a league w/ contracts on CBS before and has any input, much appreciated.

The one way that would eliminate the concern no matter how CBS handles it, is to guarantee all contracts. it can be done manually if CBS doesn't cooperate. Then each owner will have to leave some cap space for emergency add/drops and a little bit of cap space for trades. also we could just have an additional free agent budget after our draft. i.e. auction w/ 100m but cap is 105M.

as for your rookie question, that's how i interpret it too.

I don't think this was decided either, but tbh i think i like the no add/drops of minor leaguers during the season. 10 minor leaguers is more than you'd ever move to your active roster in the year, you wouldn't have to follow the 19 minor leagues looking for add/drops, and it gets rid of the problem of the MLB draft being mid-season. I like this idea. rookie draft each year to get each team to 10 minors again and thats it till next off season. of course you can still promote from minors to active.

time for karak to make some executive decisions

I agree with no add/drops for the minors during the season. I think the rookie draft would lose a lot of relevancy if you could add/drop prospects like that, since you could essentially treat the drop penalty like buying another draft pick mid-season (and it'd be a pain to keep track of).

No minor leaguer add/drops.

However, if a minor league player is called up to the major leagues, he will be subject to the same waiver process as everyone else. Those with appropriate cap room can then bid on the player.

The same will go for free agents. Say Pedro is signed in June... as soon as he is promoted to the majors he will enter the waiver process and people can bid appropriately.

It's important that you understand there are rookies and there are non-rookies who are in the minor leagues. These non-rookies are available in the primary free agent draft (although I can't think of an example of one who anyone would want), but if they aren't picked up there they are subject to the waiver process when called up.

Andddd we hit a snag. Coff of team ThunderCoff had to back out, so hopefully Thundercat wants the whole team, or can find a replacement co-owner.

If not then.. back to the 12 team 'i cant count, but i'm prophetic' auction!

It's unacceptable for a team to back out at this point. I hope he has a damn good reason for it.

The no minor league add/drop sounds good to me.

So if I did want to draft one of these minor league non-rookies would I be able to buy him then stash him in the minors or no?

Someone backing out on the eve of the draft (for a non-emergency reason) really has me absolutely infuriated right now. Am I overreacting?

I figured Id get flammed. Sorry but I felt I had no choice considering Id miss just about all of the draft I felt it was necessary...

Im sure the league will run just perfectly fine without me, especially since Thundercat will probably just run the team himself.

The word on the street is that Thundercat is working on it and will still take the team. So i think we're still all set - assuming Levarkin who i still havn't heard from in days, is alive and well.

That's fine. I simply find it curious that it took you until 12 hours before the draft to realize your work schedule. If something changed drastically at the last minute, then I understand.

Hey fellas, yeah I'm going to try and assume Thundercoff fully. I just sent Exit a PM about this so hopefully he sees it soon and can respond. But I definitely still want to be a part of this league.

For whatever reason my coworker can't go to Denver to help oversee the configuration of alll the new servers and equipment at our new satellite office.

The flight is first thing Wednesday morning and ill be putting in long hours daily while I stay for 3 weeks. My career>fantasy baseball right now.

I have no problems with that at all. It just bothered me that it came so late. All I was saying is that if you KNEW ahead of time that your career would conflict, you shouldn't have committed. However, it seems this was thrown upon you today/yesterday, so that's fine. I withdraw annoyance.

Also, I move to make Exitonly a second assistant commissioner. Do I have a second?
