Last year we got three "two week drops" and four "free drops," where you could cut any player and have $4 covered (meaning you'd still have $6 on the books if you cut a $10 guy). Any cuts beyond those and you'd have to carry the full value for the rest of the season.

Are we going to have the same setup this year? Were the two week drops just a safety net for when we were getting started or should we keep those on?

yea i wasn't sure about the first two week grace period either. i'm fine either way - and if no one speaks up i'd think we should default to doing the same thing as last year.

Given that we've been setting deadlines for cuts, etc., I take it those freebie cuts would only be valid after the FA auction is closed out and rosters are set? In other words, no cuts of any kind until after the auction closes, right?

Explain? Are we allowed to still cut people and receive their $?

I assume we can't, if that's so, are we allowed to cut players to free up slots for the auction/free agency as long as we absorb the salary?

Was wondering this myself. It seems like it would be ok to allow this, since people aren't going to go dumping off any big contracts at this point since they'd have to retain the salary. Though I'm a bit biased, because this could benefit me. Thoughts?

Edit: Nevermind what I wrote before. It looks like you are the winning bidder on six players right now, therefore you won't be able to bid on another player because it would exceed your available roster spots.
