Oof, just to clarify - if the season is scrapped therefore never completed then the league prize pools are void, and if the season is officially completed (even if postponed for a while) then the prize pools stand? Tough luck with the transfers.

Yeah, don't see any other option, it's what the bookies would do.The LMS and completed MOTM prizes are exceptions of course. It would take me weeks to sort it out

Like you say, hopefully it won't come to that. I can't see how they can scrap the league, too much is riding on the final results for continuation (CL places, UEFA places, promotions, relegations). I think it more likely the Euros are scrapped / delayed for a year and the league matches just be postponed until it's safe to continue.

i don't think that is what the bookies would/will do. imo correct outcome would be however officialfpl declares it, as those are the rules we play by.

Still doubt it will be cancelled, surely just postponed until deemed safe.

What do you mean by how fpl declares it? If they award the top prize of the match tickets or whatever it is to who is in 1st at the time of suspension? I don’t see them making any other declaration, the game is not played for money. In our version we have the money element affected by the massive imbalance of chips being played or not. I don’t know though, uncharted waters for us all and I’m gonna bury my head in the sand and hope it turns out alright! Should think it’ll be the euros that gets postponed and then they finish the season a month late

So with that 1 gameweek month I guess I'm paying out MOTM to whoever scored the most last week LOL

LMS should be interesting this week. Those taking a hit will be sweating

So as things stand it looks like GW30 and 31 will be blanks.

So if everyone gets 0 points for those 2 gameweeks the bottom 6 of GW29 are out?

Could you confirm Mic ?

EDIT: Referring to the LMS league if that wasn't obv

Haven’t even considered that. Don’t think that’s fair, more likely we knock out bottom 6 in the next gameweek played (if it’s week 32). I’m not making any hard decision on anything until we know for sure what the next gameweek played is. Whatever I do is gonna leave people unhappy, in uncharted waters here and people just gonna have to bear with me

Edit: if the whole game weeks are moved and stay as they were then that would solve that problem anyway. This is all a waste of time anyway until we actually know something for sure

I cant see why that would be unfair, its just according to the rules. Official FPL have announced that deadlines for GWs 30 and 31 will stand as is. FPL is full of unexpected events and this is just one (severe) example of that.

Fair isn't always what is written in the rules.

I would go with a more "in the spirit of the game" ruling, even though I would benefit from runlikebolt's suggestion.

I get that this is hard on those who get “punished” by the suspension (which could be me as well if we get further suspension) but personally I think its a slippery slope to bend the rules mid-game. What about h2h leagues? What about the bottom 2 in gw29 who were highly dependant on the City-Ars fixture that got postponed due to same reason as gw30 and 31?

I will respect any decision made by admin (its just a game after all). Just voicing my opinion.

yea i mean you can't change the rules of the game. think of it just as a postponement, same as if it was for bad weather on the morning of the games

I don't have a horse in this since I've been eliminated a long time ago but would happily give my opinion if needed.

But to follow your logic runlikebolt, shouldn't the people who took hits go out first?

Yes of course, gw29 score only used as tiebreaker in gw30. And gw 30 used as tiebreaker for gw 31 (and gw29 if gw30 is a tie as well). Thats how I understand the rules.

The problem with GWs 30 and 31 being counted as zero scores for everyone (and gw29 being used as the tiebreaker for each) is what happens if more game weeks are postponed and/or added at the end?

Will gw38 potentially be an octuple Gameweek? If so I’m glad I still have my bench boost chip. Seems like the wait and see before making any rulings strat is the only sensible one possible at this stage.

No it would be void as it was completed.

It would essentially mean it didn't take place.

We've got to wait and see what happens.

Unfortunately even that link is half & half on the issue, we just have to wait & see. I pulled the below out from that article:

" Betway's Alan Alger said: We have rules to cover almost all eventualities – primarily if events are cancelled then bets would usually get voided.

However, these are unprecedented times and we will need to consider the fair and pragmatic approach depending on how the relevant associations, leagues and ruling bodies decide to act to declare winners – competitions may be shortened, changed in format or abandoned completely.

It really is too soon to comment further. "

Yeah it’s a pretty clear wait and see.

I think you need to decide on tiebreakers asap that would be applied if things progress as is (play on from gw 32 onwards). So we can decide if point hits are worth it or not. Of course its a wait and see but I think you should rule on the planned scenario that game will kick on from gw32 onwards which could be cancelled if we get further suspensions

Well at least the Euros have been moved, paves the way for the season to be completed, even if delayed.

I’m not knocking anyone out for taking a -4 in a week where no games were played. I don’t care if people think I’m making up my own rules, it’s clearly not in the spirit of the game
