How was the overlay on DK this first weekend?

FanDuel?

I saw an amazing, rapid-close of a DK $3 GPP last night for MNF, 30k entires were placed within an hour and I think there was a 150-entry cap.

Sunday Million closed just short of the guarantee at 79,876 * $25 = 1,996,900.

I know it varies a bit from contest to contest but what was the approx ITM score for DK 50/50s this week?

Made me sick that I only play FD where there was very little, at least for the Thur and Sun main slates. OTOH I'm pretty sure I would have gone all in and I had a terrible weekend, so maybe I got lucky.

For those who won money last year:

How did you describe the income on line 21 of your 1040? I also had poker winnings, so my tax program just lumped the fantasy sports winnings together under "gambling winnings".

Also, does anyone know if we are supposed to pay state taxes on DFS? I ended up paying 3% state tax (PA) because the tax program listed it as gambling, but I'm curious if I would have still owed state taxes if I had listed it as some other kind of income.

Thanks.

I paid state and fed taxes. I think I did it as sort of a lottery win. I am not a "professional" fantasy type guy. Spend very little time on it, etc...

Week 1 overlays every year on DK. They always go pretty aggressive with week 1 and then re-size the GPP's going forward.

They might not be the 10 billion unicorn they were 12 months ago but overall they are fine. Lot of people wanna gamble on fantasy.

This got a front page headline on ESPN

Feels like ESPN knows the public likes anti-DFS stories or something.

ESPN feels the need to bash, misrepresent the industry for some reason...DK has paid overlays for pretty much every sport on opening day/night...then there are very few the rest of the season.

Real story is 16 percent rake and massively shrinking first prizes in their contests (mostly from paying our 25-30 percent of players.).

Dk likely still profited last week with head to heads and non guaranteed contests...if not they won't be hurting by the end of the season...

The big negative is that due to the scrutiny of the industry other new sites will not come along and have lower rake and large contests with overlays as was the case the last two years.

Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't heard about the Yahoo data breach, you should all change your account password immediately. I'm not sure if yahoo email=yahoo fantasy login too, but it couldn't hurt to change it just to be safe.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/yahoo-em...ential-crisis/

Yahoo has been struggling for years to keep people coming back to its digital services such as email. That challenge just got more daunting after hackers stole sensitive information from at least 500 million accounts.

thanks for the headsup rakeme

Also a merger would suck. Hope that doesn't happen but feels inevitable.

What is there to even investigate?

My guess is they make them use 1 account going forward.

Man that stuff is a big grey area.

Bad move by PapaGates there for playing dumb. They never have GPP overlap and always have same h2h.
