Check the T&Cs of the sites. All will have: Arizona, Louisiana, Washington, Montana and Iowa (laws that pre-date DFS/UIGEA for the most part.)

Nevada was first to legalize it by requiring a license.

NY, IL, TX, HI, MS, have had their Attorneys-General declare it as gambling/sports wagering/illegal, with a list of complicated actions.

Then there is a huge list states that have regulation/legislation of varying degrees in the works like: MA, MD, CA, FL, HI, others.

Does DK send tax documents or are we left to do it ourselves? I thought I read if you profited over $600 you would receive actual paper documents and those who profited less would be responsible for doing it themselves.

I only profited a few thousand last year but was asked to provide my SSN which I assumed would put me on the list of those receiving documents. So far I have received no communication from them about it. I thought they only had til the end of January to send the documents or to notify me of a delay. Was I mistaken and it's up to me to figure it all out?

Definitely did. Started 2015 with an empty account, total deposits of $300, cashed out ~$3600 and have $500ish in my account (haven't played since baseball ended)

Has anyone received any tax documents from them?

So I heard that a lot of former poker players started doing this, whats the current state of dfs? is it profitable and I heard about how it may be getting unregulated in the states like online poker, is this true? how long will it be around most likely? Im a canadian and have been playing poker pro for about a year now and just heard about this and im really interested in whether or not its worth learning

It can be profitable yes. Need good math/excel skills, and preferably programming skills. Also need to know sports extremely well to succeed. If you aren't good you will get wiped out way quicker than in poker.

It can be profitable if you in it for the long term. For the short-term I do not think it is worthwhile as the variance and swings have effect.

It depend what sport you want to play, some require heavy maths and stats. Some require less stats and more intuition.

This just got posted on YouTube and have a look.

Kinda. Coming up with bespoke algorithms for projections is important too.

To build a good model, you need programming skills and a lot of knowledge in advanced statistics. If you have neither, then your option is pay some sites $69.99/mo to do it for you while you spend your valuable time registering thousands of games against bad players.

I could not agree more. Yes, data mining and sourcing quality info/data.

Maybe sports like baseball and NFL will need heavy maths.

But for football, knowledge of diverse leagues and players takes time. No amount of modeling & maths can offer a short cut.

Yes and then you'll be paying rake vs all the Ppl who use the same sites. That extra time is the differ nice between scraping 5-8% roi vs 40%+ roi

Really? I was under the impression that skill gaps weren't as large in DFS
