By their logic short term stock trading should be banned in these states...

I think there is a certain number of added viewers the leagues get from these companies. Personally I'll watch a lot less.

The leagues themselves are the only one strong enough probably to keep them in business.

Full season leagues will last. DFS will fade out weekly as a couple states ban it each week. Then Pres. Obama signs an exec order attaching DFS to UIGEA. Such a shame the greed of a few ruins it for everyone.

There are some large buy in season long leagues. I'm sure these would get eliminated also...

The only thing dfs has going in for it is the nfl loves fantasy football.

There are many aspects of life where gambling is present. The main problem was dfs drew way too much attention to itself and got way to big too fast...

Your first mistake is thinking logic has anything to do with it.

Yeah I don't see how season long is any different, at least in Nevada. I play the NFBC every year (poor man $150 edition) but they have leagues going up to $1500. They even host many of their live drafts in Vegas. They said on their forums that would still occur but that was before the downward spiral.

If you are in Florida and New York, call your local representatives immediately and voice your opinion about DFS.

With all due respect, I believe DFS is being challenged by the US Attorney's Office in Tampa. I don't think my local rep has any pull with them. Its also very clear that DFS has many Florida players. I'll leave it to the sites to release those numbers to all interested representatives.

DFS had their exemption carved out of the UIGEA and those in charge were giddy with greed and power, and now are in the process of seeing it blow up on them. I'm not going to be able to stop that, and neither is my representative. If the networks and major sports leagues can't save it, we can't either. Lets hope that the DFS lawyers can save the day.

They have huge rakes. Is there legitimate fear, though, with their aggressive marketing that funds aren't segregated? Have there been any withdrawal problems?

Anyone from Quebec or Canada allowed to login to draftday? It's telling me i'm from a restricted area now and autologs me out. Just a little problem about the balance of my account...

Are you hearing anything new about New York Joe? I'm under the impression NY AG is investigating possible fraud and not the legality of DFS.FD is based in NY and this state can't afford to shut down any tax paying business. Most NY pols would rather plunder a successful business and get their cronies jobs there instead of shutting it down. The DFS industry should be doing something to make it easy for us to contact our pols ala Rich/PPA.

Maybe I'm just a bitter cynic but I find it incredibly naive to think that a single politician, on any level, in this entire country, would care about DFS jobs or DFS tax revenue. Some could be convinced to care, not by constituent letters and e-mails, right or wrong, or common sense, but by direct lobbying. Hopefully heavy doses of the latter is going on behind closed doors, and that it's not too late.

I agree with the latter part of your post 100%.I can only speak for NY but I'll give you an example. The NY pols bickered for 2 yrs.delaying the opening of the Aqueduct racino, costing the state and city $billions. The reason for the delay?they were figuring out how to divvy up the racino spoils, contracts for cronies, patronage jobs etc. These guys love businesses that require political input.Shutting them down is highly unprofitable.

Congressmen these days are bought and paid for by special interests. Writing or calling them will likely get you a nice form letter in return, but little else.

Nice headline: DraftKings, FanDuel FBI investigation could freeze daily fantasy players' money for years

but i'm sure it will come eventually just not instantly
