You linked the Chrome plug-in for H2H MU finder, imo that is not a script, and I dont see where it allows for entering GPPs w/csv on FanDuel.

This is a debate that went on for months over the summer. I'm under the impression that anyone seriously involved in DFS was well-aware and/or participating in the discussion. Everyone knows the policy. Everyone is welcome to read the rules on the site.

These high stakes pros are going to ruin DFS a game we all love by their selflishnsss
So they should make less money than the rules allow them to, just "because"? Out of the goodness of their hearts? That's not how things work in the real world. Look at high-frequency trading. Should people with profitable strategies trade less? People have spent a ton of time and money on developing algos, and doing anything but trying to maximize your personal utility function is just never going to happen in any real-world scenario. **** look at poker -- should forhayley have to put in less volume so he doesn't make as much money? Or should he intentionally make mistakes so his opponents lose less? Your contention here is ludicrous.

While the script, as I understand it, seems to be clearly against the current rules, it somehow got approved by FanDuel. The onus is on FanDuel to uphold the policy they put in place. You can't blame it on selfishness among the regs who are just trying to earn a living.

I am well aware of the debate. The quote you have pulled out was in regards to FanDuel and FD only.

I am aware, have installed, and have used the DK script in the past.

I have the RG Chrome plug-in, I was not aware of it capabilities beyond H2H MUs, I did not see the update that it scripts GPP LUs, when was this update?

If a regular user would look at it now, they still would not know it does GPP entries:

Agreed. 100% onus of the power functions go to the operator. Further note: I dont understand how anyone can blame:
  • Users for using approved scripts.
  • Rake (vote with your feet, this is a marketplace).
  • GPP payout structures (see note above.)

The bad decisions made by the larger operators can only affect them if you vote with your feet and find other places to play.

Here's the problem with this.
1. My anger is with FD not enforcing or following up on this script and who knows how many others.
2. If it was approved and ok, then KCannon altered, how is that not ban worthy ? Because by their rules, that's essentially what happened and by their response.

I get these high stakes pros want to make the most money they can, great but don't act like they are the Victim when people are calling them out for breaking terms of service.
I am really intrigued to see what the internal investigations bring up on scripts.
The reasons they aren't banned is for the select few like Max.
So basically DK and FD are banking on a select few players for their industry instead of the other 99%

Here's the article. Behind a paywall, though

http://www.wsj.com/articles/fbi-just...del-1444865627

I was hoping DFS would wake people up and make them realize that this and stuff like sports betting is harmless and should all be legal, but it's starting to look like the opposite is going to happen

Who are they contacting and how? Are they choosing from a broad sample of players or just the guys who've been "cheated'' out of their $100.

I guess the bright side is that DK and FD have plenty of money and support to fight anything the gov't tries to do. I can imagine them becoming the NRA on steroids.

the government doesnt seem to be trying to do anything too terrible for DFS... despite lots of people talking about it very little/no mention of trying to shut it down. just make sure it's on the up and up, which seems plenty fine to me.

that said, of course i'd rather the government not be involved, but median result of government regulation is probably fine/good.

The question, to me, is whether Comcast, NFL, etc. back the sites or walk away as fast as they can at the whiff of scandal. That will have a big effect on how much money the sites have to fight stuff.

The state AG stuff, yes, seems pretty positive on balance. The MA AG seems focused on consumer protection and I thought the NY AG question list was very thoughtful.

The stuff in this article....not quite so good.

Obviously I'm not in a position to say what the FBI thinks, but i'll speculate anyway and guess they are more interested in any potential fraud.. which i think is unlikely to have happened - and even if it did, while would obviously not be GOOD for dfs.. probably wouldnt be death blow for the industry, just whichever site it occurred on.

the question about whether dfs is actually exempted doesnt sound like a particularly scary one.. with maybe the exception of dfs golf/nascar it seems pretty clear that it is.

(1) I didn't say anything about victims. I just said the onus is on the site to enforce the rules. I think the policy itself is dumb, but it's even dumber when not enforced.

(2) No. Turing Test

It's pretty crazy to see how many people out there dislike daily fantasy. The constant ads + the media mishandling this whole "scandal". Basically every casual football fan I've talked to thinks DFS is a scam.

Lol definitely but I was talking more about just the constant barrage of the ads and what people think happened in this "scandal". It's not really about the "get rick quick" thing, at least with the people I've talked to.
